I‘m not sure what’s up, but a flood of amazing designers are sprouting up from the UK lately. A hot designer that we’re seeing more and more of on this side of the pond is contemporary textile designer, Anne Kyyro Quinn, a native of Finland who now resides in giddy London. Her line of home accessories are simply stunning. Her sense of color, workmanship, and overall design brilliantly transcend anything I’ve seen lately in the textile world. She’s big on 3D design which gives everything a sculptural effect, and best of all, her items are handmade.
I love her felt lighting, it’s so interesting – I’ve never laid my eyes on anything quite like it (the closest I came was once when I threw a sweater over a lampshade to create mood lighting and nearly burnt down my house.) She rocks cushions, throws, bags, blinds, runners, placemats, floor cushions and wall panels, too.
To quote the British, “Absolutely Brilliant.”
