Meet Mr. Blue yoga mat. How dull. Not exactly “om” inspiring.

Meet Ms. Doreen Hing, exercise addict and founder/designer
of Plank, an upscale line of yoga accessories. Not dull. Very “om” inspiring.

Based in Boston (from Britain surprise, surprise), this designer has set out to infuse a bit of her tongue-in-cheek humor and transcendental thinking into revving up ubiquitous purple + blue mats seen in studios today. Determined to offer hip
yoga accessories versus the “hippie, bohemian” ones commonly found, Plank mats are stylish and witty. Yoga not your thing? You can also use the mats for pilates and general stretching too. Available at Fred Segal, Paul Smith, Design Within Reach, and for the locals, Lekker Home. Purchase them online too, mats range between $60-125.

Plank is not only
putting Boston on the map, but on the mat, too.

Katie – I’m happy you approve! They even have one with a half eaten muffin on it – love that! :)

Ha! They should have one with cupcakes. There have been a couple times where after a long yoga class, I’ve treated myself to a cupcake. Best reward ever!!!

…or a large pizza with extra cheese. Ha! I’m going to take a stab at this. Name 5 things you’d like on YOUR mat… Okay…

I’d love to look down at my mat and see:

    1) A fun house style mirror that makes me look super thin!
    2) A large pizza
    3) Pictures of clothes I want to wear this spring from anthropologie. :)
    4) the words, “You’re hot!” or “You’re the prettiest girl in the room”
    5) FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS all over it, or KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE or A thousand miles begins with a single step

Also, I’d like my mat to be chocolate chip cookie scented. The more my warm body heats it up, the more it smells fresh baked! hehe!

Thanks for your comments and and I’m glad we make you smile. The technology and printing process for these mats is new. They each take 15 minutes to print and finish. It is the same quality image as you would see in an art gallery. Plank also has a patented finishing process that protects the images and adds extra traction. Don’t forget the sense of humour, that’s priceless…

I let the folks at Its(k) know too…

I know, she’s sooo stylish. I have a friend, Lisa, who is like that. She wears the most amazing clothes. I totally love it… do you have any favorite clothing designers?

I love, are they in Germany yet?
