BOA, the principal designer at Object Interiors in Brooklyn, wrote to me today about her fabulous collection of furniture and I’m in love! She told me that she just exhibited for the first time at Brooklyn Designs last month and she sent me photos of this great cabinet that I simply had to share.
This is one rockin’ little freestanding linen closet! I love the design, the doors without the typical hardware but cutouts instead, and the woodgrain doors and orange exterior… Perfect for urban living, especially useful in apartments where storage is an issue. I remember living in places that had no linen closet so we had to get creative and store them in plastic covered bins beneath the bed. This is a much better option, plus it doesn’t look like a storage closet, so you could rock this in your hallway or living room and guests would just assume you store books or electronics inside (vs. toiletries, towels, and sheets.)
If you’re interested in obtaining a price or placing an order, please contact BOA directly. Her bio and additional photos of various other creations can be found on her website. Impressive!
Thanks for the tip, BOA!

Wow, look at the stands are they stable? (I think there is a problem with the link, website should be: http://www.objectinteriors.com/)

Thank you *so* much for the post, I checked the links and they worked last night, but you were right, today they were dead – new ‘flickr’ code was in the HTML – which confuses me. I’ve been having blogger issues for the past few days, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, but the stability of ‘blogger’ does concern me!
Thank you again.

Seems like the link is working now….
As a furniture designer myself, i just don’t understand how the stand can support the cabinet.
Nice looking though – looks like the material on the doors is kirei board…

I appreciate the positive comments regarding my cabinet. The one shown is a prototype. The production models have a horizontal crossbar connecting the legs and the base is a few inches shorter. Rest assured you can put many heavy items in it without worrying-it is quite stable..
peace.

p.s. yes! the doors are made from kirei board not wood. kirei is made from the recycled stalks of the sorghum plant stalk.

Woah. I like this combination. It’s really original. But I don’t really like the texture.
