BOA, the principal designer at Object Interiors in Brooklyn, wrote to me today about her fabulous collection of furniture and I’m in love! She told me that she just exhibited for the first time at Brooklyn Designs last month and she sent me photos of this great cabinet that I simply had to share.
This is one rockin’ little freestanding linen closet! I love the design, the doors without the typical hardware but cutouts instead, and the woodgrain doors and orange exterior… Perfect for urban living, especially useful in apartments where storage is an issue. I remember living in places that had no linen closet so we had to get creative and store them in plastic covered bins beneath the bed. This is a much better option, plus it doesn’t look like a storage closet, so you could rock this in your hallway or living room and guests would just assume you store books or electronics inside (vs. toiletries, towels, and sheets.)
If you’re interested in obtaining a price or placing an order, please contact BOA directly. Her bio and additional photos of various other creations can be found on her website. Impressive!
Thanks for the tip, BOA!

This beautiful email arrived in my inbox today, and rather than write-up my opinion of Alexa and her new online store, I’ll just let Alexa speak for herself. Her email sums everything up so nicely, but if you’d like to dig a little deeper, click here. I’m so impressed by her passion for innovative product design and Danish culture, and I’m sure you’ll be, too.
“My name is Alexa Aron. I live in Brookyln, NY and I found your blog some time ago through the OhJoy blog. I wanted to introduce myself and invite you to stop by my online shop, Lille Hus. I read decor8 regularly and think my shop would be a really great match for your demographic. Last year, I spent some time living in Denmark, and was so inspired by the home products I saw there (very of few of which were anywhere to be found in the US) and by the Scandinavians? outlook on domestic life that I started my own company upon my return, importing the beautiful wares and trying to promote the Danish philosophy about life at home.”
Alexa continues, “The company is called Lille Hus?which means Little House in Danish. Right now, we are just selling online but we are working towards acquiring storefront space in the future?my ultimate dream is to spend my days at my very own little shop in Brooklyn, full of beautiful things and yummy smells and good music (and maybe a dog, too). I just ordered some new products so keep an eye out for them!”
Alexa, your store has a great foundation and your philosophy, “to bring the Scandinavian outlook on domestic life to the US” is a great one. I’m sure decor8 readers will bookmark your site and we all look forward to witnessing your growth and success. Congrats on your new business adventure, we’ll be clicking your site often! Thanks so much for writing in.
psst: She has a neat blog, too.

Blogger ate my last 3 posts, the comments aren’t working (2 days of hiccups now) and blogger isn’t “talking” to flickr, so there’s a few photo issues. Sigh. But, I’m trying peeps, I’m trying!
I have soooo many goodies to post today, so stick around. I’m engrossed in an assignment right now, but I’ll be back with a tour of the best design stores in Savannah, a terrific west coast destination, a Brooklyn jewel, an open thread, and lots of creative and inspiring color to chat about.
Here’s a wonderful tour of Lisbon to keep you busy… You’re going to love this. The folks from the Delicious Days blog have done it again. I envy this woman. Gorgeous blog. Lives in lovely Munich. Travels all over to these fab destinations. She rocks.
