A big thanks to Donna from Whimsy Press for sending along a few images of their fresh new creepy designs. Modern Garde, Femme Fatale, Dude Wrap… Now you can gift all the characters in your life with wrapping paper that best suits their personality. Are you pals with a Jeffrey or Alison type (from Project Runway)? Try that fun skull wrap for him, the pink for her. Have a present for your 8-year-old nephew? That buggy pattern (below) will fit him nicely. Whimsy Press has such playful patterns, it’s fun to spot something so unique for a change, as well as wrapping paper that you can actually give to a guy without them looking at you like, “yeah, right”. Thanks again Donna for sending these our way. We love ‘em!

On the hunt for a striking 2007 wall calendar? Try this one by Washington-based artist Nikki McClure featuring images of every day life with a powerful word that inspires action on each page. Known for her intricate and beautiful paper cuts, her works are known for depicting the virtues of hard labor and patience. In addition to her calendar, you can shop for her cards and tees here. Also on my list of favorites, these new melamine plates from Working Class Studio.

Add some whimsy to your workspace with these fun pen and pencil holders from Portia Wells at Greener Grass Designs.

I give the petrie sofa from Crate + Barrel four stars! It’s their latest sofa and I think it’s just great. As seen above, you can mix it with a few eye poppin’ hues or go with a more organic neutral palette – both work well. More c+b goodies on my list: the zak table lamp, the warm glow of the birch candles (seriously calls for hot cocoa and cuddles beneath a cashmere blanket!), the cleo lamp with the sculptural mid-century vibe, and a super chunky boka table lamp that’s available in lime, persimmon, or yellow – it surely adds an upbeat feel to any space.
Psst: Did you see the mini Cuisinart wine cellar? It fits on your kitchen countertop and holds up to eleven bottles of wine – ah, magnificent! Vino, vino!
