Dutch Design Week: Dutch Living Room

I made a promise and now it’s time to stand up and deliver. Last week, I gave you a glimpse of my findings from Dutch Design Week with my post on Lift-Off Loves… I hope that you enjoyed it! Would you like a little more design candy?

Good. I’m ready to share the many products on display at the Dutch Living Room and the Graduation Galleries. Due to sheer volume, each post will be short + sweet so we can cover everything this week. Let’s get started with a few of my favorites from the Dutch Living Room, where established designers show you what they’ve been working on behind the scenes…

Cast Your Vote for Inhabit’s Pillow Design Finalists!

I posted about Inhabit’s Pillow Design Contest in July, do you recall? Mike from Inhabit wrote in today to let me know that they’ve posted the finalists on their website and would love YOUR vote. Click here to vote!

BEST PART is the surprise I had when I peeked at the finalists and one of my favorite bloggers, Imelda from Singapore, is showing off her designs. I’m so excited to see this!!!

Psst: Imelda redesigned her blog recently, too. It looks great. Nice job, Imelda!

Dutch Trade Shop: Iron-On Fun!

If you want to spruce up your crib on a dime, try grabbing some iron-ons from the Dutch Trade Shop and pick one item in your home as your science project. High quality, easy to use, and wayyy cute, I’m thinking a pillow for starters, or if you feel a bit daring, try cotton or canvas curtains. You can add a few birdies, maybe 3 flying up the panel from bottom to top, just keep the design on the bottom 1/3 of one panel only so it’s cute and not overkill. An iron-on isn’t just for tees ‘n bags anymore! Just be careful, you can definitely destroy the vibe you’re going for if you apply an iron-on to everything you own. Again, be selective (I’d opt for one item) and remember, we’re going for an accent here, not the focal point of the room.

Wood Pixel – DIY Pixel Art!

God how cute are these, huh? Now you can create graphic art without stepping foot near a computer. Classic videogame graphics via Wood Pixel is great for creative play and display in your home, and because each pixel cube has 6 sides (each a different wood – there’s 100 blocks per set!), you can feel free to change your mind and recreate as often as you’d like. I totally dig this.
