Can I get a woot! woot! This came in from Paul and Tracy over at at Branch. This weekend, they are having their first brick and mortar retail event. Branch carries beautifully designed sustainable products online, but for two days only, April 29th and 30th, they’ll have a “flash store” event selling most of what they offer online as well as additional lines including Heath Ceramics and, believe it or not, sustainable bath towels constructed using beech wood fiber! There will also be some other surprises as well. Please spread the word about this event and if you’re in the Bay Area, drop by between 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on both days to say hello.
Here’s the address and additional details:
Where: 1684 15th Street (between Valencia and Mission) in San Francisco, right around the corner from Jack Hanley Gallery. Here’s a map.
When: Saturday and Sunday, April 29 – 30. Hours are 1pm – 8pm both days.
Other: Credit cards cheerfully accepted (Visa, MC, Amex, Discover).
Questions? Feel free to contact them at info [at] branchhome [dot] com or 415-341-1824.

Fresh finds from Design Within Reach! DWR just introduced the gorgeous Brazilian Juliana Armchair ($598) by Aristeu Pires along with 50+ additional brand spanking new items available in stores or online. This armchair can’t be described as simple or cold, but rather comfortable and curvaceous, oozing with warmth and style. Everything from its classic form and solid wood back and armrests are quintessential design elements from Brazil, connecting it back to its Scandinavian roots.
I also found affordable new lighting at DWR, too. The Eclipse Lamp ($98) almost resembles a nautilus (at least to me), designed by Mauricio Klabin. I’m also loving their new Drop 1 + 2 Pendants ($198) from Peter Bowles. What do you think? Yes or No?

‘Tis the season for nuptials. I was asked to pull together content for a bridal piece I’m writing, and in the process, I’ve found some of the most stunning eye candy from place settings to jewelry. Mostly flowers, so sweet you can smell them from the monitor. I couldn’t resist sharing some of my favorites with you. Taking my inspiration from uber-bride Joy, along with my research, here’s my take on wedded bliss.
[Thank you for your emails and I apologize for neglecting you guys today. With an ill husband running a very high fever, I think I slept maybe 3 hours last night. I had a client this morning and a few articles due this afternoon that I needed to edit, so I've been on my toes.]
