decor8 reader and Boston local, Jeremy E., needs help renovating his kitchen. “I?m trying to find someone to help come up with a smart design for our modest-sized space, using IKEA cabinetry.” Jeremy writes. “Could you recommend someone who has experience with this kind of design work?”
If you specialize in kitchen design, and have experience with IKEA products (for the kitchen), oh and if you are local to Brookline, please contact Jeremy at Jae80 {at} Columbia {dot} edu.

Before I made the next comment, please know I am a big fan of IKEA kitchen cabinets but NOT their furniture. My friends have had great successes with IKEA kitchens!
By the time Jeremy pays a kitchen designer and then gets IKEA cabinets, he might be better off, say, going to Poliform (is there one in Boston?) and using their in-house services. He’ll get better quality and the in-house services may be included in the price.
Maybe?

You don’t need a kitchen designer. Head over to http://www.ikeafans.com and join (it’s free). Head over to the forums, post your inspiration picture and the dimensions and you will get more ideas than you could imagine (there are one or two professional kitchen designers on there as well as some awesome amatuers).

John and Anon – Great suggestions. Hopefully Jeremy was contacted by someone or found an alternative to a kitchen designer that will work for him.
Either way, Jeremy if you’re reading, GOOD LUCK and send us photos of the finished product. :)
