Sofia Barao (Paris)

Sofia Barao is a mixed media artist and accessories designer living near Paris. She has an etsy store where she recently started offering vintage French fashion and ad prints along with wallpaper scrap packs (great for mini projects… You could design your own closet door in the spirit of Ms. Posie!). These prints need to be framed and displayed, don’t you think? So pretty!

Cloth (Sydney)

Cloth is a small indie company based in Sydney that creates screen printed textiles by hand for 12 years. With a small staff of 5, owner and designer Julie Paterson prototypes and develops all the designs, each inspired by the natural setting near her beachside workshop.

An example of some of thier textiles. I love the one shown top left. Now look at the image below to see some of these in the home.

Working with hemp and linen, Cloth creates durable textiles that can be used for upholstery and soft furnishings, each very contemporary, yet soft and relaxed. In addition to textiles, Cloth offers pillows, lighting, table linens, and many other items, including Julie’s paintings, in the storefront that they share with Porch Furniture in Surrey Hills. If you visit Sydney, be sure to add Cloth to your shopping list. If you like something that you see on thier website, just write to them or complete this online form. I’m sure someone will help you out.

See you tomorrow!

It’s a holiday here in the states and most of us have off, so I decided not to blog and go on a date with my husband. We started off feasting on a delicious brunch out, then hit an afternoon matinee (Music and Lyrics), and finally wrapped things up in a nearby cafe lingering over cappuccino and dessert. I highly recommend date time with your husband, it’s fantastic. I’ll see everyone tomorrow, but until then, here are some excellent links for you to enjoy:

Irene’s informative and bookmark-worthy post about vintage ceramics over at Bloesem.

Stylish Danielle is spotting bright yellow as a trend over at the Style Files.

Domino magazine and their amazing “green” issue. It hit my mailbox over the weekend and I plan to dig in tonight. I heard some of their amazing eco-finds are online over on their website…

The March Country Living magazine is all about creating your own craft room and my favorite topic, “Turn Your Passions Into Profits”. The issue is devoted to women entrepreneurs and it’s just a terrific read. You can catch some of it online here. The rest you’ll need to see in the issue!

Victoria shares some of her favorite chick flicks.

Tomorrow is a HUGE day for Apartment Therapy as the Gillingham-Ryan family makes their debut on the Oprah show. The show is called, “Nate’s Small Space Miracle”. Don’t miss it! People are starting to post about the show on the Oprah website… I can’t wait to watch how the boards fill up post show! This is such great news for AT.

And meet a few new decor8 sponsors: Green Tea Design, Truche, Indie Fixx, Galleria Pangea, and Amy Burhoe.

And a bit of saving the best for last, don’t miss A Year Of Living Gorgeously, Paola’s new blog from Mirror Mirror. It seems to be a bit of everything delicious all rolled into one space.

See you tomorrow, February 20th with a special decor8 discount from an artist and designer we all love… Stay tuned!
