Berlin Artist: Tina Berning - Brings "100 Girls" to Gallery Hanahou in NYC

Have you heard of Berlin-based artist Tina Berning? I love her illustrations of women, and was excited to learn that she's bringing "100 Girls on Cheap Paper" to Gallery Hanahou in New York. I may just have to go down to check that out, it looks absolutely mesmerizing.

The opening reception is on March 29th from 6:00-9:00 p.m., but the exhibit will run until May 11th. "100 Girls" has traveled from Berlin to Tokyo, garnering praise and much interest along the way, so if you're in New York, you have to visit Gallery Hanahou to see Tina's works for yourself.

More about the show from a recent press release, "Artist Tina Berning counters the glossiness of the ideal image by stripping it down to cheap and yellowed paper, eliminating mask, pose, and fashion, giving the girls she draws back an expression beyond beauty and surface, so that they endanger the collective standard."
