Back on Tuesday (So I leave you with Yvestown)

Today is a good time for reflection. And baking yummy things. :) Stores are closed, the pace has slowed, and despite that it’s still 40F degrees and snowy here, there’s a bit of hope in the air and it tells me that daffodils will blossom soon, so no worries.

Have you visited the Flickr set of Yvestown? Yvonne Eijkenduijn lives in southern Netherlands, and her photos remind us all of what’s important – gathering with friends, good food, fresh flowers, and a home that reflects the personality and lifestyle of those living in it. Welcome to her world… (Yvonne has an amazing blog too – a total must-see!)

I’ll return from a mini vacation on Tuesday, April 10th – See you soon!

I don’t think homes get any prettier than that! I would love to have my house like that but I think my boyfriend would have some objections, darn him!

What a horrible way to put the IKEA lamp!!!

I’m not a fan of that lamp shade anyway- there are so many nicer lamp shades along the same lines, that one just doesn’t appeal to me. I don’t think the way Yvonne has used it is worth criticising though.

I agree Zita, a little kindness goes a long way in the universe!

Ok, I love this blog. Her home feels so soothing and peaceful and beautiful….oh I miss Europe!

I have always thought that lamp was so odd, and looks like it’s trying hard to be interesting or arty. I really think that it’s used well in this room though — it adds a humorous touch.
