This is a terrific mood board, spectacular colors, crisp, I just love it. It really pops off the page. I also like that it was created using a blue file folder – what a creative idea. The theme is another bonus, especially useful to all the artsy moms out there that want to design a space for both mother and baby that is stylish, functional, and fun. It looks like something you’d find in the pages of Blueprint magazine, don’t you think? Martha would be proud. I know I am. Fantastic entry, Starlee!
Name: Starlee Matz
Occupation: Mom/Graphic Designer
State/Country: Oregon, USA
Theme: Playroom + Art Studio in blue and orange.
Inspired by: Typography and a few of my favorite colors. My one year old son likes to play and I like to do art, and in this room we can do both. Key features are the standing-height desk for me so he can’t reach and plenty of play things for him like a giant soft beanbag, drawing table, a bright orange rocker and lots of alphabet letters. Fun and educational!

Thank you for entering the decor8/Amy Butler mood board contest, Starlee!

I want Starlee to design my art studio because she and I have the exact same taste, only she knows how to pull it together better than I. Starlee you have given me the gusto to go for it and pull together my playroom office for me and my little girl.
Thank you for posting this, Decor8!
Sincerely,

I love this mood board, but Martha **would** be proud. The web site featured a nursery in a similar theme: http://tinyurl.com/2s5ue3
I had it tagged as the inspiration for my little one’s soon-to-be nursery and now I have some additional ideas.

to Pecanpie – My (fantasy) standing-height desk is from Design Within Reach. I also like the Vika or Galant series of tabletops and legs from IKEA. Thanks!

Martha would actual recognize some of the pictures of the office on the board from an old Martha Stewart Living issue, which is why it has that vibe. I totally love it – the color palette and selections are modern and crisp. I would love to give my living room this feel since I have the blue wall and clean lines, but it needs a punch.

Starlee- What is the circly orange fabric swatch you have there? I want to do an orange and blue room for my son too and I love that fabric for bedding.

Hi Julia – What you see is a swatch from Angela Adams Mix & Match Stationery. It would make a great fabric indeed.
