While She Naps

I’m super excited to see that While She Naps updated her etsy store with some new goodies. I know, more stuffed cuteness, but I seriously can’t help it. My friends tell me that this is part of nesting and that I’ll soon want babies, as in human babies. But I’m not so sure about that because I’m not there yet in my head. Maybe other earlythirtysomething girls can relate? So for now, I’m sticking with softies.

i hear you, holly. i’ve been married for four years, just turned 35 last month, and only now having the very first inklings of wanting a child. still not sure in my head…

so you must relate to this then. what is it exactly?

i mean, for years and years i stored my toys and left everything in the attic, and now i’m starting to feel this need to take them out again and use them somehow. but with no children in our home, it’s a bit odd to have them around, so i just have a worn out pooh from the 70s on a chair since he’s this wonderful ocre color and i think the yellow of his matted fur looks nice in my home. and he is “vintage” :) so it works.

but i don’t know, i wonder why this kid in me is resurfacing. maybe it’s just all the influence of my online friends/peers because my “real” life friends aren’t into softies at all. AT ALL.

i guess it’s all about the crowd you run with. online, i’m around so many artists that i’m sure that’s the real reason behind this…

perhaps beautiful objects just resonate with you because you have an appreciation and eye for design, art, and craftsmanship?whether the object be “child-like” or more adult.

your “real” life friends may not be as into design as you are. the majority of us who read your website are probably right-brained people! Our “real” life friends are probably more left-brained… (my husband for example) they often don’t see the little details that people like “us” see.
