When Boston-based reader Syrene wrote to me asking whether I’d blog about the dining room (table, 6 chairs, leaf insert, and china cabinet on server) that she *just* listed yesterday on Craigslist Boston, I took one look at the photos and agreed – this Heywood Wakefield Dining Room is in perfect condition. And who knows, perhaps someone out there reading has dreamt of owning a set like this? If that person is you, this is your lucky day because this set has been in her family since it was made in 1949 so it’s quite a special find.

Although the buffet shown below isn’t listed, she is willing to let it go to the right owner along with the dining set, so if you’re interested, please let her know.

Here’s the Craigslist ad so you can read more about it and contact her directly.
Thanks Syrene for the tip!

Gorgeous – though out of my price range. Thank you for posting a Boston find like this, I live in the city and love seeing spotlights on craigslist offerings here since I sometimes don’t have the time to scour the site myself!

I actually found it on craigslist last night and emailed her suggesting she contact you … I thought it was gorgeous and worthy of a posting! If I was in need of a dining set (and it was within my price range) I’d definitely snatch it up!

There must be a Heywood thing going on. There are like 3 dining room sets on Chicago’s craigslist, and some are slightly less expensive.
There was the cutest mid century dresser today on Craig for $35 and I missed it by a few minutes. Ugh. Craigslist can be tough!

These are my HW chairs, straight out of Brimfield in May.

Seeking advice…I’m trying to win a set of Bertoia chairs on Ebay for an informal dining room. They are quite nice looking, but are they comfortable to sit in? Any comments would be appreciated!

We have bertoia chairs in our backyard and if they are the diamond shaped chairs they are comfortable, if they are the standard version they are comfortable for about 30 minutes.
