Hambly Screen Prints: DIY Fun!

I read about Hambly Screen Prints in the Fall '07 issue of Adorn magazine (page 17, purchase your copy right here), where they show a ceramic dish and soap dispenser with an owl print and mentioned that the designs are hand-printed owl rub-ons from Hambly Screen Prints that can be turned into home accessories in a flash. Really? This could be fun for a little DIY adventure, don't you think?

So I visited the Hambly website and then found their blog with lots of pictures of their Fall line (including lots of rub-ons designs), and a link to a etsy jewelry store that Allison Kreft, who designs for Hambly Screen Prints, maintains. Looks like she uses rub-ons to create her charms). I like the simple look of the mod flowers (available in orange, lime, turquoise, red, white and brown) and think they may look cute as accents on mirrors and other surfaces in the home (especially fun for dorm rooms and the nursery), as long as you keep it simple so things doing cross over into scary tacky. They have an extensive collection of papers, vellums, and overlay papers to spark your creativity as well, so visit their blog to see if you can find something to inspire your next project!

Doesn't it almost look like they added some pretty papers to this ho-hum IKEA light? Great idea, Hambly!
