I’m glad that Brocade Home recently launched a new collection called Petit Boudoir targeting all the little girls out there that want mommy to turn their bedroom into a plush pad fit for a princess. If I could turn back time and be 12 again, I’d be begging my mother to buy me some of this stuff, it’s simply adorable in every girly way possible. Of course, Brocade Home has their collection for the bigger girls too (the rest of us) and these are my fave four from their Fall line.

Most of BH stuff is too large and ornate for my home (the architecture of my place would not welcome the baroque look at all), but I do adore their laser cut headboards because they look a little fantasy-like and remind me of Swedish designer Myrica Bergqvist. I also really like their ribbon duvet, it’s charming (I love texture), the bent wood chairs, and the laser cut felt rugs. Felt rugs are extremely nice to have around in the Autumn and Winter, I’m attracted to the cut out designs and the visible fibers, so tactile and dimensional, something about them look earthy but also very fashion forward.
I have to ask this, has anyone out there shopped Brocade Home yet? I keep wondering how they ‘re staying afloat because I don’t hear much web chatter about them. Maybe many of us prefer to see furniture in person first before we buy it? I didn’t shop Anthropologie, DWR, or West Elm online until I started visiting their stores. Now that I know their quality and the various labels they carry, I feel confident shopping from home without ever stepping foot in their stores again. But I did need to visit them in person first. I don’t care about small things, like what I find on Etsy or books and such, but when it comes to larger furniture (beds, sofas), I prefer seeing it first in person because I just don’t trust most of what’s out there today. If it’s an antique or a vintage piece and I know the name, I will buy it online (and have, like my bertoia chair that I’ve had for years and my Swedish sideboard)… Any thoughts on this that you care to share?

you should get out and ask instead of relying on the little web chatter.

Wouldn’t you agree that most are online these days, like you, and search for reviews on products we’ve found in magazines, catalogs, stores, etc. Reading reviews on products that aren’t offered in stores is quite important. I look to reviews on everything and find most of them to be quite helpful. I’ve not read a lot about Brocade Home from actual shoppers, which is why I asked the question in my blog. I’d like to hear what customers have to say, especially readers of this blog because I trust and value your opinions so much.
Thank you for stopping by!

I have been wondering the same thing – their catalogs are so stylish but it’s hard to make purchase decisions without seeing things in person. Lately there have been a few inquiries at Apartment Therapy. It seems like one or two people have had issues with shipping. Two others (in the chicago post) were really happy with the quality.

Holly, I’m really glad you put this question out there. I want to order some things from Brocade, and my daughter went nuts over the lavender petit boudoir upholstered stools (not bad taste for a 5 year old!). I have also been looking online for feedback from people who have ordered from them.
I haven’t had good luck with some West Elm products I’ve ordered online (warped mirror surfaces, for instance), so going to their store has been key for me.
When there is no store to visit, asking to hear about people’s experiences makes total sense.

I swear I must have spent half an hour drooling over this catalog then realizing that I can’t move or redo my entire apartment brocade-style! lol

Hello!
I bought a bed from Brocade Home this spring (the silouette canopy) and LOVE it. Although it was a bit tricky to put together (some of the pre-drilled holes did not line up, which caused quite a stir from my handyman, er… husband), we are so happy with the bed. It is not too ornate up top and the ornamentation around the bottom can easily be veiled by a crisp-looking bedskirt if its too much.
We had no troubles with shipping, but I have only ordered from BH once, so take that for what it’s worth.
Holly, I think using the web is a great way to find out what is happening “in real life”, by non-designers, btw.

I’m glad Blythe mentioned the Apartment Therapy conversation about shipping problems from Brocade Home. I, too, drool over a lot of their products, but decided to hold out on any furniture from them because of what the AT users said.
I’d be curious to see what the quality is on smaller items, like their gorgeous mirrors and throw pillows!

Absolutely precious! I love the bedroom furniture! What little girl wouldn’t! I actually looked twice at the twin bed thinking, “I’m not that big..I can fit :)”

I have a big white ruffle mirror from them. I didn’t want the (3rd party) delivery man in my house so i said i would unpack it. Well it was cracked so the big box sat in my living room until the new one came. They sent a new one within a couple of weeks. It’s in perfect condition and this time the guy insisted to let him unpack it to make sure it was okay. I love it. It’s a showstopper when you walk into my house.

I love the ribbon quilt too. I wonder what the sham looks like. I don’t see a picture of it.

Does anyone know of any vaild cupon/promo codes for Brocade Home? I tried the “XBHINTRO” one, but it doesn’t work.
I plan on buying some pretty expensive furniture, but I’m a college student and want to save as much as I can. Any help is appreciated!

Courtney,
Try luckybreaks11 for 25% off at Brocade Home. I just placed an order for a bed and it worked. It is in the current issue of Lucky Magazine.
Good luck!
