Have you heard of the Dutch home interiors magazine VT Wonen? Oh it’s great, for me it’s right up there with Living Etc., Elle Decoration, Skona Hem, and Domino. Swoon!

Since I don’t know Dutch, I’m a bit lost if I try to read some of the product blurbs, but I still enjoy all the trend pieces, the overall presentation, and the big glossy pages of gorgeous rooms – all in the delicious boho-euro style that I love. If you don’t have access to a copy, no worries because you can browse their inspiration galleries online – so many great images to motivate your next room redux.

Oh yeah, we dutchmen have a lot of nice magazines ;): 101 woonideeen, vt wonen, elle wonen, eigen huis en interieur… In my opinion the European taste in interior design is different from the american: for example the different editions of Elle magazine (like Elle Deco, Elle decoration or the dutch Elle Wonen) have very different styles. It seems to me dat Americans in general have a more classic, romantic style, with larger furniture (like those huge beds!). But maybe that’s because they have bigger houses in general?

Wow! Very inspiring. Thank you for the link!
I especially love the armchair with the writing all over it!

VT Wonen has always, for many years now, had it’s own distinct style. You will find that reflected in the quality.
They also do their own paint (with Flexa a paintbrand in NL). I love this special coppery metallic and used it for a wall once and my friend has her chimney painted in Storm.
For colours see:

On that page next to the picture is a link that will take you to a 3D Room planner (think it only works with IE, not Firefox). It’s pretty cool.
(double click an object in your room to select it, on the right are icons to delete, rotate, etc).

Sounds like you’ve got some Dutch-speaking fans – myself included!
Fabulous post – and fabulous magazine! Do any of you know whether it’s available anywhere in the US? I’d love to get my hands on it more often than my sporadic trips back to the motherland ;) If so, please email me at alex*at*cecilyink.com
