Spruce Upholstery

April 2, 2008

I feel like I discovered a gold mine today when I found Spruce Upholstery, I love what owners Amanda Brown and Lizzie Joyce in Austin, Texas can do to the common chair. Just look at these beauties.

Spruce Upholstery

They upholster a wide variety of chairs with ridiculously pretty fabrics and the prices are so affordable for what you’re getting. I think these ladies and their business will really take off once they get some blog exposure, I mean who wouldn’t love a custom Amy Butler chair? I love the eye that they have for mixing fabric as well, what talent!

They even do custom work over the phone or via email and they have a small selection in their etsy store.

Amy Butler has a lovely range of fabric, but what use wold it be if there weren’t people like this that use the fabric in ways like this!
    I love every single chair!!

Their work is beautiful. Just a question – how would they do custom work via phone/email? Give you the idea and you get it done locally?

  • Reply boltandfrolic April 3, 2008 at 5:33 pm

It’s neat to see Amy’s prints on the various forms of the furniture. They did a nice job all around. Lovely photos and styling! (That’s an art unto itself)

I’m the lucky one who bought the second chair (the one with the hourglass frame and the blue bolster). I love it. I bought it to go in a cabin, but now that it’s in my apartment, I might have to keep it here.

Beautiful! I love Amy’s fabrics for upholstery. The cotton is heavyweight and soft, really lovely for the job. For more inspiration, you can check out the chairs I recovered with Amy Butler Kashmir fabric:
