Williams Sonoma Home Spring

Williams Sonoma Home deserves a nod for Spring, their selection has all the key players when it comes to hot trends for the season. Stripes, chain links, zig zags, corals, arabesque prints — they’re all at WS Home. Here some of my picks for the season along with a few tips.

This bold stripe outdoor rug would look great on the patio. I love apple green, fancy legs, and tufting so the James chair has a good dose of all three. I also love lacquer trays, so these yellow-tipped trays have my attention. I’d like to use one to top an ottoman. And if your budget doesn’t allow it, then find a tray at a store like Target (here’s one for $17) and lacquer it yourself. I really like these Coronelli prints, well not so much the print but the idea of displaying 3 round black frames with something sepia-toned inside. Whether it be vintage photos or pages from old books, the idea is a good one. The price of these prints at WS, not so much. Sheesh.

Bold print outdoor pillows make a strong statement. Pierced ginger jars are so pretty in the kitchen for storing nectarines and lemons. I also like the beehive motif shown here on the Lynn lanterns which I imagine would look so pretty glowing on the patio or coffee table at night. English Colonial makes an appearance here with the Hampstead bamboo mirror. Looking for the perfect gift? This silver raffia clock is under $100 and oozes casual chic. And while I love the base of the Porcelain Bamboo Lamp, I’m not keen on that circa 1980′s shade so I say ditch the shade and top it with a white drum shade with grosgrain ribbon trim also in white to add some interest.

It’s funny, I was at Target around Valentine’s Day and was surprised to see “lacquer” tray with contrasting edges and handles in black with white and yellow with white. I got a big yellow one; I think it was $14. Not sure if they still have them but it’s the identical style but reversed colors! (They also had a narrower one without handles that I wish I’d bought.)

Ha! I went and looked and they have the yellow ones as a set on the website:

I agree that WS has nice things. Whoever does their buying does a great job. But their prices are too high. I get a measly 10% trade discount, but it hardly seems worth it. Wait for the sale.

I have the vintage version of that bamboo lamp (found at Victory Vintage) and I found that a square happy green linen shade is really fun on top. I also like this look with a perfectly circular high quality black paper shade.

Some of this really reminds me of Victoria Hagen style.
