Mood Board Contest: 23 Finalists!

Are you ready to view the finalists and vote for your faves? We had 118 entries from all over the world and they can all be viewed right here. All are amazing, each with a unique twist showing the versatility of Amy’s collection — you can use her fabrics in rooms ranging from Indian to country, contemporary, and beyond. As is the case with every contest though, it comes down to only a handful of winners. Well winners who receive prizes at least. In my eyes all of you are winners. It’s so difficult to ‘judge’ creativity and talent. Amy and I had to consider how the fabric was used, if the look was cohesive, and of course the overall layout was a huge consideration along with many other things. When one creates a mood board they have to imagine themselves standing before their client presenting this look that they are trying to sell them, presentation is everything! Even if your design is amazing, a board that doesn’t excite the client will most likely fall flat. There’s so much to consider and given that I consider Amy a pro, I think she did a great job selecting her top choices. In addition to her choices, I’ve added some of my own and together we came up with 23 finalists. Ready to see ‘em?

p.s. I will post all 23 on decor8 tomorrow with links to where you can find the items on their mood boards.

Update!

Hello everyone! Today I had that painting class that I told you about a few weeks ago and it was so inspiring. I can’t wait to dig in. I’ll be tied up on Tuesdays for the next 8 weeks, but I’ll still be here on Tuesdays to blog, just a little later (late afternoon/early evening), just so you know. Thank you for all of the, “Where’s Holly?” emails today, they were very sweet!

Good news gang… I just heard back from Amy Butler. I sent her a file to the mood boards and she selected 6 that she absolutely loved and 11 that she feels are also really great. She said, “OK……. this was tough! I went through all the entries and everyone did such a beautiful job.” Amy also added, “Please express my total joy to everyone who entered the contest. Truly impressive and fun.”

Now that Amy has spoken, it’s our turn to find our winner. I’ll start posting the finalists in a moment so stay tuned. We should have the winner by Thursday or Friday.
We’re getting really close now… Yay!
