Amsterdam Meet & Greet For Bloggers

September 2, 2008

This Friday you are invited to join me and some of my friends for a special evening in Amsterdam. We will gather together at De Kroon on Rembrandtplein in the heart of Amsterdam at 20:00 (8 PM) and I imagine we’ll linger for a few hours so please join us!

Amsterdam Meet & Greet For Bloggers

I’ll be there with fellow bloggers Danielle, Emma, Sia, Nina, Pia, Yvonne, and maybe Frida if she can make it, and of course you if you’d like to attend. We are expecting between 20-30 to join us, so if you can make it please RSVP by posting below the number in your party (or email me) so that you will have a seat. You’re welcome to bring a friend and/or partner (men are more than welcome), but you may want to leave the little ones at home since we plan to order cocktails and stay out late. You are welcome to join us for a drink or you can order dinner or dessert, whatever you’d like. It’s perfectly fine if you decide to only order a drink though. Please note: Each guest will be responsible for the cost of their food and/or beverages.

Amsterdam Meet & Greet For Bloggers

For more information about De Kroon, please click here. Little cards will be on our tables that say “decor8 meet & greet” so you will know who we are. You can also ask the hostess to direct you to our section.

This is the first official design blogger/blog reader meet and greet held in Europe (that I’m aware of anyway) and I hope that this will encourage other bloggers to pull together and form their own special night out as I think it’s really important to take the online world offline at times and actually meet one another face to face. The goal is to connect with others who appreciate art and design and to put a face behind some of the favorite blogs that we read, in addition to connecting readers with other readers. We had a small, very informal meet up in Stockholm last Fall (photos here) and it really encouraged me to set up something a little larger so I decided Amsterdam would be a good place.

Again, if you plan to join us this Friday, September 5th at 20:00, please either contact me via email (decor8blog AT yahoo.com) or comment below with the exact number in your party. Oh, and please try to make it on time since we cannot guarantee your seat will be held if you are very late. But of course, we’ll do our best! :)

See you on Friday!

UPDATE: A few editors from 101 Woonidee?n magazine have confirmed that they will attend as well and will be bringing along some copies of their wonderful magazine. I’m so happy they will join us. :)

Irina – I’m taking the train from Hannover, it’s an ICE and takes 4 hours. Are there direct trains from Hamburg too? It would be so nice to have you! On another note, maybe we can do a blogger night at your shop in Hamburg in October or something (also to launch the line of those bags). We could invite a bunch of shop owners in Hamburg/bloggers, etc.) I’m sure you’d have a full house. Let me know! I’m game, even if I cannot make it for some reason I can still promote it here on my blog.

    Hi Holly!

When you’re back in the states, you should take a little side trip up to Canada…..Montreal and Toronto have fantastic cities and design shops!

I’d be happy to help you organize it as well, i’m in the Toronto area, and Montreal is only a 5 hour drive away for us.

But planning a blogger night in Hamburg would be great! Talk to you soon :)

I will be coming to Amsterdam on 10 Sept, from Indonesia. It is such a pity that I couldn’t come earlier, otherwise would love to go there and share some Indonesian insights of culture and design, and hear from others as well.

Dang – should have seen this with some more advanced warning… could have rearranged my schedule! I will probably in The Hague again in October/ November…

But why don’t you give me a shout if you are in Hamburg feel like grabbing coffee? I work from home, so pretty flexible… can usally sneak off for a couple of hours. :)

Have fun in A’dam and have a biertje for me!
