It’s time to totally embarrass someone. First let me say that I really appreciate all of my readers because I know there are a billion blogs out there so the fact that you take a moment to visit mine means a great deal to me. Your care and support keeps me going, really it does. I know that many of you who read also leave comments here and I read them all, clicking back to your blogs and exploring the links you may have left in your comment. When you step out from behind the big internet to say hello through a comment it matters. Truly. That is why I am dedicating this post to one very special reader today and her name is Melissa. Her comments mean a lot to me but especially on days when I felt a bit tired or asleep at the wheel, she always seemed to speak up at the precise moment when I needed a good cheering on and I bet she didn’t even realize it… Until now.
A sampling of what she talks about on her blog… Fashion for one.
And of course, interiors! What girl doesn’t love a pretty room to cozy up in?
I hope she doesn’t freak out when she reads this, and turn all bright red, but I really adore Melissa. Do you know who she is? Honestly, I am not too familiar with her on a personal level though I love reading her guests posts on Creature Comforts which have launched into a special new blog called Melissa Loves. It’s such a fantastic little spot to visit with a cup of tea in the morning… I love that she consistently shows up a few times each week to give us a slice of her inspirations. It’s a very special blog but what is even more interesting is that author Melissa is a genuine and kind person who takes a very personal interest in others.
In addition to her blog, she creates jewelry and owns the Etsy shop Acts of Kindness. Here is a glimpse of some of the lovely things she sells there. Absolute beauties!
So Melissa, I want to thank you so much for your support and for always taking time to visit me here. It makes the internet, and the world in general, a much happier place to have a sincere, warm and encouraging person in it such as you are. Congratulations to you on your new blog, Melissa Loves is a new favorite of mine.
P.S. If you author a blog and have a reader in mind who you’d like to give a virtual hug to, please take a moment to blog about them and post a link to it here below so we can see!!! I know this may be a little too warm and fuzzy for some, but if you are comfortable with giving someone a shout out please do it.

I don’t think she’s a reader per se, but I’m a great fan of hers, though! I’d like to give a virtual hug to Josella Colquhoun of Tack-O-Rama.net, who scours the Internet for retro fonts and images and turns them into awesome royalty-free clipart. You can find her vast online collection of royalty-free clipart and fonts at Tack-O-Rama.net. I spent hours downloading a whole bunch of goodies over the weekend!
I blogged about her here. =)

What a wonderful tribute, Holly! I can see how Melissa would be special to you - her blog is lovely!
I’ve taken you up on your challenge and blogged about a reader of mine who I admire. Even just starting out like I am, it’s truly the readers that make blogging worthwhile!

How sweet and thoughtful for you to recognize a loyal reader! I’m continually amazed at the power that the internet has to bring people together to share ideas and friendship (I met my husband AND one of my closest friends online). Love your blog, Holly!

This is very nice, I do think that maybe you do not know her in a personal level
but sharing in a blog and read the other blog makes a special bond.
I do not know if I will be able to post so much for a more longer period of time but I think I would do less posts but no blogging any more seems like live without reading books.

Holly,
Have been flipflopping between our cottage in Michigan and Ohio this summer and spent the last 8 days without power from the last storm to hit here…so was just dropping in to reconnect.
I love anyone you highlight and will check out Melissa as well.
You deserve the greatest shout out for all the treasures you bring to the front. You are a candy shop for the senses.
You make me ashamed that I hounded you for some time about your heading at the top of your blog, but you’ve come a long way in format !!!
Love Your Blog!

Awww man….I am completely speechless. Seriously, how could I be embarrassed, when I was SO completely excited!? (although I was a tad red in the face and my heart was racing) Holly, through your incredible generosity of spirit, support of others and creative genius you make all of our days SO much better here on this beautiful “home” away from home. You mentioned,a day or two ago, in your “daily news 8 quick links”, (when you were on dooce) that it felt like you were on Oprah. Well, I have done you one better….I was on DECOR8! I was on DECOR8!
You MUST realize how I can live off this elation for the rest of the year and well into 2009, right? Thank you sweet, lovely, talented Holly. From the very bottom of my heart. And thank you to all the sweet and lovely ladies who commented here….wow, what an amazing community we have here, right? YAY!

Thank you Holly for featuring Melissa–isn’t her blog amazing? To know that such a kind, genuine and thoughtful person is behind all of those fabulous finds she shares with us makes it all the more special.
Melissa’s daily visits and sweet, thoughtful comments encouraged me to keep on, keeping on many a time in my early blogging days, so I’m thrilled we all have the opportunity to throw a little love her way–it’s well deserved.!!!

I look forward to Saturday when I sit down with my yummy breakfast and nice big cup of tea to devour blog after blog. Catching up on what all the wonderful writers/artists/design lovers…..having been writing about all week. Creature Comforts is up there along with Decor8 of course probably Melissa Loves now too. It so lovely to see you recogise those who read and comment, and of course ‘embarrass’ Melissa who always has something lovely to say.
Keep it up ladies…’cause Saturday just wouldn’t be the same without you!

I have to agree with Melissa; Holly, you’re like our Oprah!!! I think a lot of people would say the same as well.
I visit here every day, sometimes twice a day anticipating your next post, whether it’s an Etsy Tuesday post, or a post about inspiration or blogging.
I’m just starting out as well, so I don’t have that many comments yet on my own blog, but it’s yours that keeps me going and makes me not want to give up!
It’s so nice to see that we’re all here to not only read your blog Holly, but to encourage other’s as well. It’s such a positive environment, how can you not just LOVE it!

You are awesome, too. I think it’s great that you are being warm and fuzzy. The blog community I enjoy is the one that is about bringing people together, helping them through, lifting them higher, appreciating them for who they are.
That’s so much the better world than one full of snark, anonymous flaming, negativity, doubt, cruelty and the shallow idea that humor means nastiness.
You rock. Thank you. Now I’m going to check out her blog, cause it looks really interesting.
