Juicy delicious paper products. Yum! If they were edible I’d be in trouble. I know most of us suffer from paper addiction but I’ve resolved that it’s perfectly okay and the best drug on the market because it’s the most affordable, no rehab required, and doesn’t seem to end in tears or broken relationships. If anything, relationships improve because you actually start mailing pretty cards to people whom you care about. :)
Here’s a little discount on Hello! Lucky, one of my favorite companies, to make giving even easier. Take 20% off by entering coupon code “hello!decorate” upon checkout. Offer expires on November 21, 2008. This offer includes everything – holiday cards and wrap and all greeting cards, personalized stationery, and their new book Handmade Hellos! WOW!
More on the book here (I know I’m ordering it). They SHIP WORLDWIDE. Enjoy!
I think we all should make a list this month of 10 people we love and send a “no reason” card. You know, a card not for any other reason other than to celebrate friendship and promote peace and love. Why not? If you’re up for it, this is something I’ve already resolved to do by the end of the year. 10 cards for 10 people who have made a difference in my life in 2008. I may even have 11. But I’m starting with 10. Are you game? I think we should totally go for it. Now more than ever people need to know that their life matters, they have friends, they are loved. It’s tough for some right now. People are losing jobs and security left and right. A good support group is one of the best ways to lift us all higher. Why not start by looking at our immediate circle and showing an extra dose of support right now? Just a card can do a world of good. I’m starting by sending 10 cards to 10 people who have made a difference in my life this year. Not for any reason other than, “You made 2008 a better year for me because….” – I can’t wait to send them. We have to be the change we wish to see in the world, a quote to apply for best results. :)

This is a much better idea Holly, than sending out a chain email. Aren’t you tired of those? They don’t do much for the soul, and they can’t compare with a personal card in your hand, and a friend’s own handwriting. I have taken to letter writing again, too, because to me it is much more personal.

I’m game, Holly! I actually received a card from a friend 2000 miles away yesterday, just because. It really made my day! Thanks for posting all these wonderful discounts. The hardest part is deciding where to spend the money!

I will most definitely send 10 cards to 10 people in my life. Some of these may be virtual ones, cause I don`t know their mailing adresses and I`m too shy to ask…………
Thank You, Holly :)

That is a brilliant idea. But I think you are much more organised than me – I’ll be lucky if I get around to sending Christmas cards. But then again, I have such a huge stash of blank cards which I’ve bought – this would be a great way to get rid of some of them! (and leave space for some more, beautiful, Etsy finds!)

What a great idea, Holly! You’re so right that it’s tough for some right now – I hear it a lot from friends and colleagues – we all need each other’s support. Sending a card can be a sweet and simply way to let people know how important they are!

What a brilliant idea to send cards to people that have made a difference in our lives, or are an important part of it. Most people on my ten-people list fall in both categories. I also like to send and receive postcards from random people around the world – have you heard of or experienced http://www.postcrossing.com? Little brightens the day more than postcard greeting from someone in Brazil you never knew existed.

What a wonderful idea! 2008 was a year of many changes for me (giving birth, emigrating) and so many people made the journey much easier for us. This is a perfect way to reinforce my gratitude to them! Thanks :)

Holly, thanks for sharing your idea about writing thank you cards to those 10 people who had made an impact on my life in the past year. 2008 was a year of many positive experiences and they wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for a number of people who happened to enter into my life and made a difference. I’ve typed up what I want to say to my 10 people and am waiting for my thank you cards to arrive in the mail so that I can scribble my thanks and my notes.

Jonathan that is great, I’m so happy to know you are fully prepared and ready to make 10 people exceptionally happy this year. :)
