Favorite Posts of ’08

January 7, 2009

Until I collect my thoughts and figure out what I’d like to talk about today, because I have no clue, I’ve pulled together a bunch of my favorite posts from 2008 to keep you occupied (I got the idea from Dooce to do this). I wrote 994 posts on decor8 in 2008 so I had a hard time pulling together my favorites but I managed to find some and have listed them below. I found the ones with the most comments that made me smile as your input here is really what makes this blog. I just show up and you guys do the rest. I invite you to click around and enjoy. There’s lots of reading to catch up on in case you’ve missed some of them.

I’ll kick off this massive list of bloggy highlights with a little love to the Aussie crowd since I have a lot of new readers from Australia so if you’re from the land down under you’ll want to learn about all of the lovely bloggers in your part of the world.

Tabitha: Hi!! It’s a graphic from the Twitter.com website. I’m hoping I can find out who did their illustrative work, it’s all very cute.

Some of my friends just told me over on Flickr that this whale is called the “Fail Whale”. It appears whenever Twitter is down or overloaded from too many tweets. That’s how I got the image, Twitter was down and so I saw the whale and saved the image.

After doing more research on the Fail Whale, I discovered that the artist who illustrated him has a website here: http://yiyinglu.com/

    Hi Holly

Happy New Year! Thank you for this recap. Your post on “Career Advice for Creatives” was probably the best one I read all year. Reading it again just now gave me another mental boost – I’m about to quit a corporate job to study fashion design and was starting to feel jittery about it… Thank you!
