Textile lovers will want to see a lovely book that I received a few weeks ago called Fabric Inspirations by Kate French and Kathrine Sorrell published by Ryland Peters & Small (photographed by Lisa Cohen who I’ve featured here on decor8 before). I love the photographs and the entire vintage vibe of the book – each photo looks so welcoming. I think that is why I’ve always loved combining the old with the new, it feels very cozy or in German, gemütlich. Here are some photos I took in my living room this morning to give you a sneak preview.
If you’d like to see more, you’ll need to spend $20 and buy the book but of course if you do that, you’ll certainly thank me because it’s a keeper. B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l.

Before I even saw your closing paragraph I was thinking, “This one is a keeper”!
You might also enjoy a book called Vintage Fabric Style. It has that playful mix of soulful textiles with modern pieces.

I think it’s a child’s room but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to curl up in the turquoise daybed. Right. Now. ;-)
