Attention Cooks: Jamie Magazine

The launch issue of Jamie Oliver’s food and lifestyle magazine, Jamie, is here and it’s gorgeous. If you love to cook, or simply to be inspired by beautifully designed restaurants, well set tables, and gorgeous travel destinations, head to your nearest bookseller to see if you can get your hands on a copy. Filled with amazing photography, you’ll love it, it’s like no foodie mag I’ve ever seen before. It’s beautiful right down to the thick pages and the Monte Carlo Script font featured throughout.

You can click here and scroll to the bottom of the page to see a sneak peek of the issue. Though the images do it very little justice, in person it is much better.

I should add that this magazine is printed in England and at Barnes & Noble I paid $9.99 for it.

Oh Thank you so much for the info. I knew it had been published in Britain but have been waiting patiently for an appearance on these shores. Thank you again.

I knew about the launch of his new magazine. I am glad to hear that you like it. As a huge Jamie’s fan, I will go on a hunt in Montreal to try to find my copy.

I got the first copy (shown above) in mid December and actually mail ordered gifts to friends in England from Jme. I can attest that they are working out some of the typical beginner mail order issues but were extremely responsive to my emails and took care of everything splendidly. So if you are in Europe, I can recommend Jamie’s mail order company. The main magazine, at least this issue, served as a marketing vehicle for the catalog.

Jamie’s magazine comes accross like Jamie himself– approachable and friendly.

I LOVE the way you have linked to the font, so often you see a cute font and have no idea what it is or where to find it. Thanks!

Hmm, I know this isn’t exactly a substitute for Domino or the other magazines that have folded in recent months, but it is refreshing and inspiring to see a brand-new magazine launch in these trying times!

Holly, As you are in Germany half the time I was wondering what you thought of Tim Mälzer.

    Can you understand him?

He seems like a bad boy – The Rolling Stones compared to Jamie Oliver’s Beatles – if you know what I mean.

I have a German only DVD of Tim – I learn a little more German every time I watch him.

I went by on my way to work tis morning. It is so delightful – The texture of the pages. The imagery. The infusion of decor for the kitchen. The global recipes. The travel. So worth the purchase!

    Thanks for sharing!

I bought this out of curiosity yesterday, and yes, it is really beautiful. But — it is also one giant ad for all the products that Jamie Oliver is selling/launching or those of his mates. In one recipe he would have you use 1 kg of one his flavored salts; he sells his salts for 3.50 English Pounds for 250 grams — he would have you buy 14 English Pounds worth of his salt for this dish ($20) for something that you could make for pennies!!! I am sorry, with all due respect to Jamie, and I have been a fan for a long time and have most of his books, this is just outrageous. I will definitely not buy another copy. It is just one big media campaign.

i’d also like to point out that this magazine has absolutely NO ADS! this was quite refreshing for me. most of the photos are by the lovely david loftus. beautiful.

Maya I noticed that too. They were smart to make the readers pay for the content vs. reliance on ads. The magazine is 4x more expensive than US magazines but the readers pay vs. the advertisers.
