Living comfortable and simple can be done in our attic loft space. It's a small oddly angled room that we painted a wonderful warm grey and I used some of my favorite fabric scraps for the pillows. The room was done on a budget and my best friend with sewing talents helped me keep the budget to a minimum. Garage sale finds that I've put a spin on with paint or a new look paired with mostly all natural fibers....don't you think these walls are calling out for a fabulous wallpaper??

living cozy, living well, and/or living in the moment is moving to new york sans money and job. it is spending eighteen hours a day hunched over your computer, trying to convince yourself that you are actually making progress while the most generous of all the good folks you're reaching out to respond with "great work, but we're not hiring at the moment".

living cozy, living well, and/or living in the moment is playing tetris on the platform at the greenpoint avenue stop, waiting for the G, which is never on time. it's hoping you can get a seat on the train, as continuing your game while standing in the aisle is rather difficult (and potentially dangerous). it never actually finishing the game because the commute is always too short (though you'd never actually complain).

living cozy, living well, and/or living in the moment is using your girlfriends apartment as an office, so that when you wake up in the morning, you can feel like you're actually going to work. you have to sit on the floor of the still unfurnished apartment, and you must always remember to fold the kitchen towel precisely as she did, because she's very particular and more than capable of making you suffer for it; but that's ok. you've got one client, and you're convinced it will lead to others.

living cozy, living well, and/or living in the moment is teaching your girlfriend to fart, followed by a heavy dose of humility as she puts yours to shame. humility, but not without pride. she's rad.

It all means living in a home I want to come home to.

Which means this wallpaper fits in, perfectly.

Living well and living cozy is ...
being grateful for each day of life that we have left to live, and giving ourselves completely to it.

It's hugging your mother for 10 seconds instead of 3, it's being surprised that your husband brought you water because he saw you were already tucked into bed, and it's hearing the rain and wind pounding on the windows outside while you and your loved ones are safe under the covers. It's your dog snoring like a tiny little pig as he dreams of chasing wonderful little squirrels ...

It's surrounding yourself with those you love and being content in it all.

Even in a warm weather country you can still have a cozy, simple lifestyle as long as you have good friends, nice wine, candles, a connection with the outdoors, and for us, our furry friends on hand. Pic: http://tinyurl.com/aej4y4
