Speaking of food inspiring room design, do you recall this post that appeared on decor8 a few years ago? It’s called I Dream of Cake where I matched cakes to some of my favorite rooms. This is one of my favorite posts on decor8, I still reference it for inspiration today.
Cherry Blossoms, a touch of black, a pop of pink, delicate china, altogether gorgeousness.
I think everyone should try this once in their life, pairing food with rooms because it’s a fun creative exercise and I’m all about getting those creative juices flowin’.

Hi Pear – EVERYONE always asks that question no matter where that photo shows up on the web. ha ha! All I know is that it’s seriously expensive. I wish I recall the name of the manufacturer. It wasn’t one I felt the need to bookmark given the cost, now I wish I had.
Anyone else know?

that cake is gorgeous! my hubby and i will most likely have a vow renewal type of thing for our anniversary (which falls in the end of march- cherry blossom season!) because we never had a “real” wedding… and i loooove cherry blossoms and would love that as a theme. so im def’ bookmarking this!
granted… it wont be until our 5 year anniversary (2012 lol) because 5 is a good number and thats when the date falls on a weekend. but i’ve been helping a friend plan her wedding so its been making me a little wedding obsessed. and i’m realizing how much i want some type of celebration for me and my hubby.
wow… i really rambled there. anyways that is a lovely exercise!

I know this is about food, but I have another inspiration! Target has come out with the Erickson Beamon jewelry line9glamorous and “girlie”), and this yummy bangle bracelet may become my guest bedroom or a powder room! Inspiration comes in all forms!

This is one of my favs, too! I love this pink and bookmarked the 4th photo when we redid the kitchen. I have IKEA Nexus (?) Yellow-Brown cabinets, white beadboard walls and Armstrong Mica countertops – pink and robins egg look so pretty against all that white and brown. You made my kitchen – thanks!
