Man, it’s hard not to feel a little down in the mouth about all these mags shutting down.
I have a friend who works for a paper that just laid off about 1/3 of its staff.

Okay, I’ll be honest — I had no idea Hallmark magazine even exist(ed).
I worry about all of the people in publishing who are losing their jobs. Where will they go from here? I don’t think there are enough open jobs at other publishers to absorb them all…

I just saw on the news last night that they are shutting down the Rocky Mountain News building here in Denver. I think they said they were going to finish out the year and that’s it…but they just finished construction on their building recently! It’s very upsetting, and makes you wonder how far it’s all going to go…
