I was so excited when Shella Anderson wrote asking to share her home over at Cookie magazine, I immediately agreed and now it’s live over on the site in the House Tours section (look for the square that says Essex, England or link here).
Styled by Selina Lake and photographed by Sussie Bell, this home is so joyful and full of life — I can’t stop looking at all of the little nooks and details. I also love that Shella is NOT scared of color. If you have access to Ideal Home (UK interiors mag), you can find her home in their April 09 issue. I had the pleasure of interviewing Shella and so I asked about favorite things, the shops that she loves, what inspires her design, how she decorates for 3 daughters (and keeps things so neat!), favorite books… I’m sure you will really enjoy reading about her family of 5 right here.
It’s time to announce the winners of the Print Pattern Paper giveaway! Are you ready? These two winners will each receive a $75 gift certificate to use at the Print Pattern Paper shop online: #47 Rita V. and #319 Jessica selected using Randomizer. Please contact me: holly at decor8blog dot com to claim your prize!
I’d like to thank Print Pattern Paper and all 621 decor8 readers who entered, I enjoyed reading all of your entries — in fact they inspired me to take this past weekend completely off and as a result I spent a lovely vacation day in Boston on Saturday and another on Sunday walking the beach and taking photos on Plum Island, MA (photos blogged here at haus maus). You motivated me to schedule some me time so thank you for that. I hope that by participating in this contest and through reading other entries you were inspired to get out a little and enjoy some time to yourself, too.
For those who did not win this time, don’t worry because you’ll have another chance to win fun prizes soon as I have another trick up my sleeve. I’m hosting a great giveaway here in just a few days away so stay tuned! Thanks, everyone!

I recently came across a thoughtful blog called You Are What You Love and felt an instant connection to the overall aesthetic and really enjoyed viewing the handmade work presented there. After some digging I found out the blogger is Canadian artist and graphic design student Aprile Elcich who also has an etsy shop where you can find delightful works like these:
I really enjoy her recent nature-inspired collages, specially like the chairs clipped from a 1901 Eaton’s catalog and other vintage book scraps that she couldn’t allow herself to throw out; I’m so glad she recycled them into her art.
