Happy Weekend!

The weeeeekend is here! Can you tell I’m excited? There is so much going on in my world over the next few days so I’m feeling particularly ready to finish work today and get started on my plans. I’d like to wish you all a fabulous few days to yourself, I hope you find lots of creative projects to keep you busy, that you’re able to relax a little and that you enjoy spending time with your family. I’m signing off now so I’ll meet you back here on Monday morning, deal?

precious things

By the way… I’d like to give a special little shout out to my lovely students in the Blogging Your Way class, we had our last day of class this week and it was such a pleasure for me to teach about creative writing and how to find your voice as a blogger. It certainly added a whole new layer to my personal experience online as a writer and I feel like I have 208 new friends as a result. Thank you BYW friends!

I’ll see everyone on Monday!

Cookies & Cupcakes

It’s the weekend! Yay! I love weekends, especially since I’m finally walking around again and feel like I can start to enjoy all of this gorgeous sunshine! How are you doing? Do you have big plans for the weekend? Hey you know what I nearly forgot to show you this week, this…

Cupcakes & Cookies

I picked these gorgeous books up recently at my local Barnes & Noble, Cookies and Cupcakes. They were originally published in Australia (divine!) and now released here in the states and to say they are completely breathtaking is the understatement of the year — they’re above and beyond what I expected when I picked them up from the great big sale table. For one, they don’t have jackets which honestly, I really like this and the the recipes for cupcakes and cookies are yummy and everything is photographed beautifully. An unexpected surprise is that they pair interiors and inspiration boards with food and you all know how much I like that sort of thing… So, if you happen to be over at your local B&N store this weekend pick these two lovelies up for yourself, I think I paid $8 for each of them (steal!). You won’t be sorry. You may even bake something from them and mail your goods to me as a thank you. he he.

Hus & Hem Interior Inspiration

I was reading Jen’s blog, Made By Girl, last night and found a link to a Scandi magazine called Hus & Hem (you must check it out!) which I recall seeing during my travels. Have you heard of it? Jen shows some of her favorite rooms here, so I don’t want to steal her thunder by reposting her picks so I’ve included some bait to get you over to her blog to check out the rest… these photos are some of my favorites. Is this alluring enough for you?

StyleRoom Community

Remember when Domino magazine had that spot on their site where you could upload photos of your room and create somewhat of a style file? I heard from a company today based out of Sweden that has something similar and they’ve expanded it to the English speaking market. The UK crowd seems to be taking to it — it’s called StyleRoom and it’s a community for home decoration aimed at those who enjoy decorating (duh) and sharing their projects and ideas with other kindred spirits. Here’s a peek at some of the homes in their community…

To play along you simply create a free account and then upload images of your rad pad and interact with others from there. I haven’t joined but I did have fun browsing their site for a bit today. I didn’t spend a lot of time on StyleRoom thought since I can finally walk (yay!) so I got out of the house this afternoon for a bit and stumbled around with my little brace on (he he) looking for some organizing bins for a home project I’m about to get to work on. But anyway, StyleRoom looks promising so give it a whirl. They just launched this UK site so there’s not a ton of involvement yet so perhaps you may be interested in getting involved? I’ll leave that up to you, but at least check it out and let me know what you think.

And don’t miss the Swedish site where they have a lot more users in their community and man, some of the homes are sweet.
