If you are in the film/TV and photograpy industry you may know all about Light Locations, a location agency based in the UK launched by Sophie Hitchens eight years ago. They are well known in the business, some of their properties you may recognize from some of your favorite books and magazines, like LivingEtc who is a Light Locations client.

Simply put, you can lease a beautiful, inspiring lifestyle location to shoot a film, take photos for your fashion magazine, or style a shoot for your upcoming book and of course, you can select from a number of properties worldwide to do this – Sophie has the right connections and a beautiful website where you can browse her stylish portfolio of properties.

And of course, if you have a beautiful home, shop, workroom or other location that you think would be something Light Locations would have an interest in, you can submit it to Sophie as she is always scouting for new spaces. I’m thinking this works nicely for someone who lives in two places with one vacant a good amount of time each year, it’s a nice way to receive some income for when you’re not using your second home.

For me, this is all a very far off dream that may never be my reality but I’m still inspired to see such interesting spaces, admire the decor, and of course share all of this with those of you who just may be looking for their next location!

I use Light Locations all of the time, they’re great. When I’m looking at them though I’m looking for things really specific to the shoot I’m preping for, it’s so nice to see them like this, as gorgeous inspiring homes, thank you!

This is a coincidence – I had actually never heard of this sort of service until yesterday when I was reading about Atlanta Bartlett’s company that also offer similar spaces to book. I think it’s a brilliant idea. It’s also wonderful for someone like me to look through their online portfolios to get some great ideas for my own house. We have a great view from our house and have often wondered about leasing it… I also worked with a film crew in a leased house a few years back. They were extremely careful with the property – protected the walls and floors.

I love the concept and the beautiful locations! Being a photographer (in my other life) I’ve heard of companies that do this type of thing but the locations in these photos are just gorgeous!

I dream of having rooms like this. But scrolling through these photos, one depressing thought comes to mind — a space like this can never be kept beautiful if a man lives in it (at least not MY man). I see smeared chocolate on the white linens, and sriracha sauce on the gorgeous white floors. Oh, to live man-free in such clean, white purity. A girl can dream.
