Atelier Eva Juliet

I was so excited when I stumbled upon Atelier Eva Juliet in Montreal yesterday, I couldn’t wait to write this post! I love inspirational art, but not those cheesy office pictures with soaring eagles talking about aiming high or something. I tend to like the to-the-point approach but something simple enough that you can quickly read it and go about your day. I also like zero cheese factor. Here’s a perfect example of how I like my motivational art…

Atelier Eva Juliet

I find this so inspiring for obvious reasons, the right words can really pull you out of a slump. The fun thing about Atelier Eva Juliet is that some of her prints are in French but also in English. I really appreciate that she’s working in two languages, I think it helps her to reach a broader range of clients. I’d love to see more bilingual art like this, I think it’s important that one creates things in their native tongue but also inviting in others by selecting a second language that may attract a larger audience, like English or Spanish or even Chinese depending on where you live in the world. I’ve noticed lately more bloggers outside of the United States writing some or all of their blog posts in two languages. Have you noticed this at all? I know it must take considerable effort, but if you do this please know that your work is not going unnoticed and that you’re no doubt reaching a larger audience this way. I’d love to be able to blog in two language fluently someday… we shall see!

Not all of Eva’s prints are motivational ones, some are meant for inspiring in other ways – the spoons and herbal prints make me want to cook and inspire me to eat! I love the spoon print so much, I’m super tempted to order it for my new kitchen…

I can see Donna Hay carrying these in her beautiful new shop in Australia, they fit perfectly within the Donna Hay lifestyle, don’t you think?

I hope you like Eva’s work as much as I do!

I love these little prints! So great! I recently saw a good idea for inexpensive art work at Ikea, the stylist/merchandiser (whatever) hung picture frame with ripped out pages from favorite books, every random frame would have the cover a paperback. It looked so inspired! I’ll try to put a picture up soon on my blog-
