Stylish Laptop Bag Round Up

In preparation for my move, I decided to pick up a laptop because the thought of my desktop being on a boat for two months suddenly made me realize that perhaps I should have an updated laptop on hand so I can work, duh right?! ha! So I ordered a new MacBook Pro (and I love it but I want to be clear – I’m both a PC and Mac – I like them equally and refuse to take sides) and as I sit here tapping away on the keys I’m considering a good bag to carry it in since I’ll be toting it around airports and in London next month.

Looking for Laptop Bags?

It’s always such a pain to find a nice laptop bag, isn’t it? I mean, they’re always black nylon whenever I shop local stores. I want one that rocks, like these handbags from Orla Kiely above. And while I have nothing against black, I do have a problem with being at airport security where everyone has a black bag on the conveyor belt. This is the same reason why I have Orla Kiely luggage — it certainly doesn’t blend! I’m waiting for the day when Kate Spade designs something in pink or turquoise leather with a fun interior…

Where do I go when I need group help? Twitter! With the aid of my dear Twitter friends I’ve compiled a list of places where you can find some nice laptop bags online in case you’re also looking for one. I’m not sure what I’ll end up with… If you have additional suggestions please comment below and I’ll revise this post to include your link too. Thank you!

Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday to you! I’m heading out early today to attend Sail Boston and Art Fridays with my friends so I’m signing off until Monday. I hope that you have a great weekend and that you’re able to fit in something fun + creative along the way. There are so many festivals going on all over the country this weekend, it’s amazing!

Happy Friday

If you’re in Boston definitely visit Sail Boston because the weather will be nice and there are lots of fun things to do around the city, like the Boston Handmade Marketplace on Saturday in Somerville.

See you on Monday!

P.S. Are you on twitter? Connect with me here.

Nancy Lam: Collage & Photography

Nancy Lam is an 18-year-old budding collage artist and photographer from southern California that I find quite interesting and thought you may too. I found her via Andrea Yu from the Sweet & Dainty blog who wrote to me recently (thanks, Andrea!). Aren’t these photos dreamy and imaginative? The soft colors and sunlight make me want to lay on a blanket outside and dream the afternoon away…

On Flickr Nancy goes under the name Slumbering Heart so add her as your contact if you’d like – click here. You can also read her inspiring blog for more inspiration, it’s called Hunny cake: My wandering days. I’m still blown away by her age – 18 – how wonderful that she’s already found her calling and aesthetic at such an early age. I think it took me much longer!
