Hello friends! This past weekend was a great one for me, I not only attended the fabric market but also the flea market along our river here that runs through the city center. I found the best dresser for my bedroom, I’m so happy! I thought I’d share it with you in case you didn’t see it already over on Haus Maus. :)
This is an antique “Vertiko” dresser made in Germany that was once natural wood but is now painted a glossy white with black hardwood (even a sweet key to go with it!), black feet and inside, black shelving. I just love the scale of it and think it fits in perfectly in my bedroom. I’ve been looking for something like this so to find it certainly made my weekend a great one. See the mirror over the dresser? It’s already off of the wall — it originally was there over a smaller piece of furniture but when I moved in my new dresser on Saturday it no longer works on this wall. Now I’m searching for a new mirror to go over this piece. :)
Tomorrow I’ll share photos of my fabric and of the market I went to – it was so great, you would have loved it! (images: holly becker for decor8)

That is a beautiful piece. I however, am more curious about the rug. When/where did you find that? Both are so pretty!

you should just turn the mirror hortizontal!

love the dresser! I know what you mean about the thrill of finding exactly what you’re hoping for. I had that happen to me a couple weeks ago at the Brimfield market. It’s so fun when that happens (since it certainly doesn’t happen all the time!). p.s. while I think your dresser is great, it’s your rug that I really have my eye on. Love the colors of your kilim rug!

Tess – doesn’t work due to how the mirror hooks into the back and also where the metal hangers on. The mirror also has lights behind it. It’s extremely heavy. It is only to be installed on the vertical unfortunately.

Jen – The rug is a vintage Kilim from Turkey. :)

Julie k – The rug is from a store here in hannover that specializes in gorgeous oriental rugs and they have some vintage kilims, too. i have been looking for a kilim for over a year now and found this one last month. it’s great, isn’t it!?

Holly – I love the fabric you picked up – would you mind sharing the price-per-meter ranges you were seeing? I know this has to be cash only and I want to go prepared when I hit it up either this weekend in FRA or next month in Fürth. Thanks!

Juliette – It varied. For some, it was 3-5 Euros per meter. For the Tilda’s brand, it was as high at 18- Euros.
