Ordering Stationery & Fabrics From Japan

After Leslie’s Color Me Pretty post yesterday, I’ve received many questions about how one can find and order Japanese stationery and rubber stamps online. I know there are some great Japanese shops I’ve referenced here in the past, but that was awhile ago so I think I’ll round up just a few of my favorite stores today, some I’ve shopped and had a perfect transaction every time.

japanese things

Ginko Papers — Lovely owners, they’ve sourced Japan and pulled together a curated selection in their online shop. I ordered masking tape from them and some other paper products and the transaction and products were lovely!

Super Buzzy – Japanese fabric and papers. Weeee!

Fabric Tales – Fabrics and more.

This and That from Japan – Great source for everything crafty!

Karaku – This has long been my secret source but I’ve decided to share… I’ve been a total shopaholic from this store in the past. Great things. I have rubber stamps, fabric stamp pads, cotton tape, fabrics and more from this seller and have ordered way too many times to confess the exact number. But I heart Karaku. :)

3point5dollars – Another secret source of mine. Shhhh.

Do you have any sources to supply with sites in English? Please share your links if you’d like, we’d all really appreciate it! :)

Great links! I recently discovered O-Check (you may already know of it), a Korean paper company that has lots of similar paper goodness. Their site (www.and-spring.com) is full of beautiful pictures of their products. I’ve seen their products available through Anthropologie and also NoteMaker (an online Aussie shop), but I’m sure there are more stores that carry their products.

This link is for a shop in Toronto but they ship to the rest of Canada, the states and the UK. The former owners (when it was called the Japanese Paper Place) still sell wholesale but are not connected to The Paper Place.

    Here’s my contribution: http://www.tokyopenshop.com

They carry the coveted Hi-Tec C Gel Ink pens (in loads of colors) … love them! These are the ones that are sold exclusively for the Japanese market but you can get them in the US via this site. Perfect for writing on Japanese stationery!

Thanks for sharing your links, Holly!

I was in Taiwan in 1997 and was amazed at their adorable stationery stores. I loved the cute illustrations with English captions (that occasionally made no sense in English). If anyone has business that takes you to Taiwan, be sure to check out the stationery stores there! I should have stocked up more while I was there.
