Gudrun Sjödén

My new Gudrun Sjödén catalog arrived today, and being a customer for a year now, it’s always a treat to receive their beautiful catalogs as they’re thick and the recycled paper feel and smell is just heavenly. I ordered my roman blinds from them that are in my living room and kitchen, and with the order they sent me a great makeup pouch in one of their folksy patterns. I can’t say I’d ever be able to wear the clothes on their site as they’re a little to bold for my taste and not fitted enough, but I really like some of their accessories and home things, like their curtains, rugs and some of their table linens.

Their recent collection is inspired by a trip to Bhutan, a place I’ve long wanted to see, and so I enjoyed the video on their website showing views from their photo shoot there. Very transporting from my wee little desk in Germany, for sure!

UPDATE: Here is the English website where you can order a free copy of their catalog too!

mine just came yesterday too and I had fun flipping through it last night! I love their scarves and tights, but, like you, favor their home collection more. I went in their Nurnberg shop and was impressed with how well-made their things are.

If anybody reading this likes the clothing or home things they see, I would definitely recommend them. I was thisclose to getting some of their small rugs for our bathrooms, but they were sold out of the color I wanted. I think their prices are quite fair for the quality they give.

I agree, the clothes are a little bold for me but the home products are really pretty.

Nina – It’s actually a Swedish company but they’ve extended into parts of Europe and have a real following in Germany, hence the German website/url. :) I want to visit their store in Hamburg, an hour north of where I live. I wish they’d bring a store to Hannover, they’d do great here – this city loves to shop, especially in our new galleria – Ernst August Gallerie. They’d do PERFECT there.

Wow! I just went to visit their website and, wow! I love everything!
But I can’t understand a word!!! I will make a little research to see if I can order from Quebec, in Canada, or if they sell their things somewhere around here… Thank you Holly!

Hee, I blogged about Gudrun a few weeks ago. ;-) I love her stuff, but I agree with you about the clothes – too bold, not fitted enough. But I adore the new home collection, especially the fabrics with the dots. I have some of her stuff, and the quality and colors are really amazing. I can definetely recommend her!

Love everything she does… including the chothes, however I am quite large and they do cover a multitude of sins! I thought I had an email from them some months ago asking for peolple who were interested in managing a shop in London to contact them. Does anyone know anything about this?

  21. 21 decor8 commented:

Catherine – Sorry, no idea. Maybe you can write to them directly?

  22. 22 Kathryn commented:

Sadly, they have discontinued mailing their catalog. Makes sense since i am sure it cost a fortune. Their website is a nightmare to navigate – but their stuff is lovely!!

  23. 23 Lyn commented:

Ooh I hope not- I have had the catalogues for a while & have ordered lots of stuff from the Scottish outpost in the UK. I love it to bits & would be thrilled if a store opened in London so I could actually try things on!

  24. 24 daniela commented:

I will so much miss not receiving the catalogue. Apart from being beautiful I feel it was much easier to shop from than the website. Have just now spent a FORTUNE on their current Sale!

But I am sure it is worth it. :)

  25. 25 Helena commented:

Daniela…the catalogues are still going strong…don’t know where you heard they were discontinued….I get about ten a year including the smaller catalogues sent out for particular collections…love them all…
