there’ s that beautiful american spirit, holly! as an australian spending 7 yrs in your country, i was always blown away by the ‘can-do’ spirit of my u.s friends….there is a deep seated belief that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it; i found that in nyc especially and it was so refreshing and allowed my partner and i to dream big and then start living those very dreams. we’ve returned home now, but now carry that ‘can-do’ energy with us. loved this post. thank-you. x

Passementerie – Yes I know! :) But I must learn German first or else I won’t be a very good shop owner. :) So this is what I’m doing now. Learning the language — and it’s hard — but I’m determined because I want to have a shop someday for sure.

Holly, This is why I love your blog. It gets me thinking & moving and wanting to do so much more with my life than I ever did. Just this month I quit my advertising career to do what I want to do full time. I cannot tell you what a feeling of liberation it gives me. And all of this is because of this one thing you mentioned in this post. I’m thinking of all that I ‘CAN’ do instead of all the things I cannot. You are an inspiration to me and will continue to be. Thank you for being who you are and thank you for living and blogging the way you do.

This was a great reminder for me! I feel like I am your friend…always looking for reasons we cannot do things…to make it easier on myself. But then I always feel unaccomplished and not fulfilled. I will try to come up with at least 2 reasons to do something for every reason I cannot…

What a great post! I plan on finishing that pillow cover that I have been putting off for months. And I plan to do crafts with the kids. My husband is sick this week so I also will be trying to help him when he needs it too. I want to make everyday of my life count for something. I have been thinking about this all week. Thanks for reminding me to be creative and productive in my life.
