Pinch Design

I was catching up on Danielle’s blog a moment ago and saw the most gorgeous sofa there. When I clicked her link over to a company called Pinch Design in London, my heart jumped! I found the exact cabinet that I’ve been looking for to put in my living room — at least the living room in my next home as I’m happy with what I have from IKEA for now despite how my husband misses our Swedish mid century credenza that we sold and left behind in New Hampshire. My cute husband isn’t happy with my poor little white Besta Burs. He doesn’t like the wheels, he doesn’t like the storage, and he wants our credenza back! :) Thing is, I’m looking for something a bit more modern and instead of mid century, more this century, and that is why the one shown here from Pinch tickles me so.

I also LOVE their sofas. I’m scared to look at the price tag though. But I will write to them and inquire anyway because it is gorgeous and perfect for the needs of both my husband and I. And who knows, maybe they deliver to Germany or have a rep here? All I know is that the next credenza I purchase will be a keeper — it has to stay with me for years and years because I’m becoming more and more interested in buying quality pieces that stick around, perform well and are timeless classics. Maybe this is an age thing because I didn’t care about this at all ten years ago. Hmmm.

I love the cabinets and credenzas pictured here.

I just bought a beautiful teak credenza off Craigslist for $250. I couldn’t believe the price. It is in great shape. I have the television on it.

As for wanting to buy quality pieces, maybe it is an age thing because I am also wanting to buy pieces I can keep and treasure for years.

That said, I’ll still pick up something cute at Ikea from time to time!

    Hi Holly,

Wow, you also found the cabinet I was looking for, but it is way too expensive for my budget! I want a wooden cabinet which is a bit mid-century inspired but is not micentury because my husband doesn’t like that. I think a will ask my brother, who will start his education as a furnituremaker next year if he can make something nice.

I agree. Great design. Definitely has a pricey vibe though.

What great credenzas! My husband isn’t very keen on ANYthing from IKEA, but they doesn’t mean I don’t like them, haha. Not sure I’d ever be able to afford anything from PINCH, but they are great!

Victoria – What IS up with men and IKEA anyway? My german girlfriends say their husbands hate the store too. I don’t get it, I always thought men loved a good deal but maybe not!

    omg the credenzas! so gorgeous!!!

my husband can’t stand going to IKEA. he likes the idea of the furniture from there, but can’t actually bring himself to shop there. i think the last time we went he had a nap in the car while i shopped!

it looks like the aversion men have to ikea is a universal thing. hehe glad to know im not the only one. i have been trying to get rid off my ikea purchases and buying more quality items but those come with a bigger price tag and function comes before form..

PINCH Design is fantastic. I love their simple lines and contemporary elegance. I have ordered Russell Pinch’s Pendel sofa and Harper table for clients, and they just love them. The quality is very high and Russell is fantastic; their customer service is second to none. I’d definitely recommend them.
