I think we’ve spent a nice week here together, don’t you? I’ve really enjoyed the comments on this post, I read them all, some twice, and I appreciate each thoughtful response. I feel a deeper connection to you, and have clicked on all of the links to your various blogs, and am surprised by how many came by to take part in the discussion. So thank you very much. :)
And on Monday, for those who have asked, I will post the link to where you can sign up for the next Blogging Your Way e-course, which will be open for registration on December 7th at noon EST (7:00 pm here in Germany), and I’ll announce the name of my partner-in-crime who will be teaching along with me for this session. You will love her, just you wait! :)
Now it is time to begin the weekend… it is after 5pm here now so I need to wrap up blogging for the day. What will you do this weekend? I will be visiting our relatives who live in the countryside and attending yet another market and shopping event tomorrow along with having dinner at the new apartment of friends who recently purchased a flat in an old building and gut renovated it. Of course, I’m excited to see what they’ve done and I’m trying to decide on a nice little housewarming present. Any ideas for me?
See you on Monday, enjoy your weekend! :)

If I were receiving a housewarming gift, I’d like to receive a pretty little creamer or a footed bowl or a pedestal cake plate or any sort of domed plate or a sterling serving spoon. Such a list!
But alternatively, I think a spool of gorgeous ribbon would be an awesome gift. Or pretty kitchen towels. Or any basket for organizing STUFF.
Enjoy your weekend!

The first thought that popped into my head was glass candlesticks. There are so many options depending on their style. And who doesn’t need more to add to their collection (or to start one) at this time of year? =)
I really love those deer gift tags in the first photo. I of course love that wrapping paper too. It’s a great inspiration for next year, because for some reason I bought bright Christmas-red paper that says “happy christmas” all over it, so I’m stuck with that. Although, I could make the tags… hmmmm…. =)

Happy weekend! This week especially, I cannot wait for the end of the workday. Every year, my husband and I take off random time in December to prepare for Christmas, and this year, it’s this coming Monday and Tuesday. And, although he usually works on Saturdays, he took the full weekend off!
We’ll use the time to finish Christmas shopping, wrap gifts, buy and trim our tree, generally decorate…and make hundreds of our signature chocolate truffles, which we give out to absolutely everyone for Christmas. Setting the time aside is so much fun, and it also helps us manage the stress that always comes with all the holiday parties and obligations.

I hope you have a happy weekend too. Thank you for opening the discussion yesterday. I’ve only just had a chance to pop over now… so will join in belatedly.
My weekend is filled with lots of good bits. Hubby is off at his work Christmas Party so my little girl and I will be hanging out together, doing some Christmas shopping.
Sunday we have our goddaughter’s Dance Concert. It’s always fun. :)

I really enjoyed your post too, and your feedback got me thinking, what do I really want with my blog? A part of me wants to do it full time, while another part wants something else. I think my “problem” is that I want both! ;) I want the advantages of being a full time blogger (that is, I want the blog of a full time blogger), but I want to pursue a career and to do well in my studies too!
As a house warming gift, I think you can never go wrong with flowers. What about a beautifully wrapped green plant in a pot? Or an amaryllis just about to bloom?
I’m looking forward to see who your guest teacher is, although I don’t think I can attend your class, since I’m also doing Susannah Conways unravelling class at that same time.
Oh gosh, this is turning into a long letter!
Have a nice weekend!

Thanks again posting such a great topic. It really got me thinking about my own blog and it’s nice to know I’m not alone. It sounds like we all have the same thoughts (and doubts!). It was great to hear suggestions & comments – thanks everyone!
As for a great housewarming gift – I always love giving things based on:
Bread – So you never go hungry.
Wine – So that joy and prosperity may reign forever.
Salt – So there is always spice in your life.
And a Candle – So you always have light.
Becuase it gives you a chance to get REALLY CREATIVE!!

Ahhh this Toast collage is so warming on a cold winters night…
Just been catching up on a few posts of yours I missed last couple of days.
Reading the comments on Talk it out and learning so much. Fascinating to hear from a readers point of view and from fellow bloggers. I think these posts on Talk it out are working like a forum. A place where we can meet with like minded people and gain from that, it’s like meeting for coffee or being part of a knitting club or something! I like the social feel!!! We can’t all meet up in real life so we come to your ‘place’ instead Holly! Thanks for being such a good hostess!!

Happy weekend! Your blogpost regarding comments gave me some good food for thought. Indeed it’s true that there is not always a reason to comment on a blog when you visit it but on the other hand I think a lot of bloggers, including me (!), want to know if the blog posts are having the right tone of voice and are interested to readers. And as we all have limited budgets there is only a stats meter included on our website which only counts visitors. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

When I moved into my new place my sister bought me a lovely set of hand-painted porcelain measuring spoons and an adorable 50s inspired apron. The measuring spoons were one of my favourite housewarming gifts. They have this old-school Ukrainian chic look to them that I adore!
Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Holly, What will I (we) be doing this weekend? Cutting our Christmas tree and taking a picnic along. We live in a small artist/farm community. Once a year, we stand in line, in the cold for 2 hours to pay for a permit to cut a pine tree on U. S. Forest Lands. It’s a great way to catch up with news from neighbors and friends.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
