Winter is magical with crystal trees and marshmallow hills as snowflakes fall to gently kiss your lips. Isn’t this a beautiful time of year? Here are a few photos of what winter means to me, a few of my own combined with those of my lovely Flickr friends. I hope you enjoy this composition of winter’s highlights.

what a cozy time of year! i luv it! and i love the pictures of the milk glass! i collect it {reminds me of my sweet grandma}…i also made similar snowflakes in my window with my kids {they are made out of coffee filter! ;} i hope you have a wonderful, cozy christmas!

The very first time I saw real reindeers was in South Africa. They were such gentle, magical creatures that i could completely see how they embody Christmas! Here’s wishing you a laughter-filled holiday!

While I love the light pinks, creams, soft beiges, the winters I have stored in my childhood head are heavy – full of cherry reds, forest greens, gold.

Lydia – Yes I think that it is. I see that the younger generation, while still honoring and placing some value on tradition, are interested more in modernizing tradition to fit today’s lifestyle and a younger aesthetic even. Just my opinion anyway. :)

Honestly, for the first time in my adult life I am embracing winter. I’m totally in the spirit this year and it couldn’t have fallen at a better time because we just got 16 inches of snow! I’m feelin’ the fire, sparkly tree and hot chocolate today, and we just got home from a snow-shoe walk.

I like the simple wrapping, and winter sure is white here, right now! Nine inches so far today, probally will get atleast a foot! But it is really pretty!
