I’m sure that you remember the jumbo series of posts where I rounded up calendars of all shapes and sizes for 2010 from mostly independent artists. Well call me a geek but the things that I look forward to most on January 1st include taking a long walk, snapping a photo of myself, enjoying brunch at home (this year we made mimosas with salmon herb omelets) and pulling out my calendars and arranging them in parts of my home. This year I have three, this beauty below is from artist Catherine Campbell from My Folk Lover in Australia.
I stuck it on the wall with some double-sided tape for this photo, but I plan to buy a frame today since stores are open again – I think putting it in a frame will only enhance its beauty and allow it to serve as art in addition to protecting it from bends. I can easily switch the months as I go, and the beauty of this calendar is that I can use a paper cutter and trim the calendar portion off of the bottom and keep the art, either to frame it alone or to cut it postcard size and mail to friends since the reverse side is plain white.
Do you have your calendars up yet? Where did you put them? Which ones did you purchase?

I plan on using the calendars I bought this year at the Second Storie Indie Market here in Rochester, NY in frames as well, the letterpress are so beautiful, it would be such a waste to throw them away!

That’s the link to the blog entry I wrote about the market so you can see what Upstate NY has to offer Holly :) Enjoy!

Love your calendar! Thanks for sharing the link. Hanging our new calendars is an exciting adventure in our household. Of course, half the fun is picking out your new calendar for the year (we do this months in advance) and then we can hardly wait until January 1st. My choice this year – beautiful photographs of Italy, all in sepia, to remind me of our fabulous visit there. Perfect hanging spot – on the wall to the left of my iMac – always in view! Happy New Year! – Julie

Happy New Year! I purchased a planner and wall calendar from Letter C Design and adore both of them. I haven’t settled on a place for the wall calendar yet, still trying out a few places :) Love your calendar choice, gorgeous!

Happy 2010 Holly!!
I got the same one. After much search on etsy it won out. It is up in my studio but in our office is a goofy fanatsy one my hubby picked out (we take turns picking that one).

I adore Catherine Campbell and this calendar is one of my favorites! I was so excited to put up my Ink & Wit one, right by my desk! And I am also excited to use them as prints after the months are up! :)

I’ve got my calendar up in the kitchen. I thought about getting a cutesy one this year, but we also use it to post my husband’s work schedule, so I needed something bigger. This year, I got the Owls calender for the World Wildlife Federation (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/2010-Owls-WWF-Wall-Calendar/Silver-Lining/e/9781435114203/?itm=14) … I’m very tempted to get one of the desktop calenders from Night Owl Paper Goods though!

I got a beautiful calender from my bigsister with photos from the past year, of her children, house and special things. She matched colour palettes with the photos, and it’s really beautiful.
She lives in Ireland and I in Denmark, so it was a very special gift, and I can’t wait to get it up – I might put it in a frame as well, sounds like a great idea for a special calender :)

Happy New Year Holly! thanks for the constant inspiration, I am really enjoying reading your posts everyday. Your pictures of the snow are making me feel homesick though, as it is most unlikely that we will get snow here (Singapore) and I really miss it…
Anyways, back to the subject, I have never bought a calendar and I don’t feel the need of it yet. However I can’t do without my Moleskine agenda!
I am just wondering: what are you guys doing with your old calendars? are you framing them, using them as postcards? I agree that some can be really beautiful, as the one shown above. I would probably fall for a letter pressed one to start with…

Such a pretty picture you took here. I love that sweater like candle holder. I bought 3 calendars for this New Year of 2010 and all on etsy. I bought a teeny tiny one from photographer Kitty Rogers to put by my computer, a bigger artsy one from Our Little Love Nest to hang up and one to plan with that can be put in my purse from bubbo. I’ve already started using them all.

This is the first time I bought a calendar in YEARS. When I saw this lovely one from Postal Press, I knew I had to have it: http://www.postalpress.com/blogs/news/1288772-specimen-our-2010-calendar
I bought myself a great “inspiration” (aka white) board, some magnetic bulldog clips, and put it right up there. It’s next to my 30 before 30 list and my personal mission statement.

Happy New Year! I bought a small desk calendar from Modern Art Everyday (Etsy). It’s made up of dog silhouettes and sits in a small CD case. I love it! It’s perched on my desk at the office, and by the end of the year I hope to recycle it into something wonderful!

I printed them on textured 80# paper. Every month is beautiful. Everyone loved them.
