Interior Style: Color Splash!

I’m about to sign off for the weekend but before I do please spend a moment looking at these inspiring corners that I found in the decor8 Interior Styling group on Flickr. I’m so excited to report that the group currently has over 1,200 members, Sha-zam! Each one of these photos was contributed and shared within the group pool and though they’re all quite different in style, color, mood… they made me feel energized and inspired. Must be all of the splashes of color! I hope that they do the same for you.

    I love the chalkboard door.

    My thinking –

    Chalkboard wall = too much
    Simple chalkboard = too light
    Chalkboard door = just right

That granny square afghan is to die for! I used to make those granny squares when I was a kid. I’m sure an afghan like that would take me all winter! It’s a real beauty.

I like the idea of framing wallpaper (at least that is what I think is going on with the yellow paper in white frames on the wall.) It’s creative and a fairly inexpensive way to decorate/change up art if you can’t afford a big showstoping piece.

Loving the granny square afghan, both modern and sweetly homey, and the soft variegated color on the woven basket behind it (which I suspect is cleverly woven from recycled magazine pages or wrappers).
The delicate tone on tone eiffel tower pillow is nicely paired with the randomly ruffly-tufty one.
