Clare Plueckhahn Photography

I’ve been busy with some spring cleaning today, and I put a few new chevron pillows on my sofa to spring it up — but it feels nice to take a seat and visit you for a moment to share the photography of Clare Plueckhahn from CI Studios in Australia. Do you know her work?

Clare Plueckhahn Photography

I just spent 20 minutes wrapped up in Clare’s world via her online portfolio and now I want to make a big salad, have a glass of mimosa and some grilled swordfish and eat on the beach, and oh yes…totally redecorate my flat and buy some new clothes while I’m at it. That is what I call inspiration! Here, have a peek…

I particularly LOVE the store photos she took of the Midi Boutique – this delightful shop is owned by Jess Young in Lorne, Australia and it looks beautiful. I could move in and set up a little bed and desk and be all set. I see a rug and a scarf that I’d love to own, and so now I’m wondering how is the designer for both pieces. I’m referring to the rug that the model (or perhaps that is shop owner Jess?) is shown walking on and also the scarf on the white shirt against what appears to be a chippy white ladder.

I must confess a little something… I am dying to travel to Australia! I have to make it over there eventually… I really do. Seems the Australians are so sunny and creative! My travel must-see list includes Copenhagen, Sydney, Christchurch, Tokyo and St. Petersburg. What are your travel must-sees?

We’re doing a round of Scandinavia this summer b/c it’s tops on both our lists, but also on my list is coastal Italy, Australia/NZ, Spain, and I’ve always dreamed about taking a Trans-Siberian trip. Honestly though, I feel I’ll end up in Hawaii and doing a PCH version of the American West Coast as our next mega-trip b/c my husband is dying to do that with me!

These pictures are all really nice. I love that little shop I like small personable boutiques. You don’t really see those around much these days at least not here in the States. I would love to go and shop at her shop.

If Copenhagen is on your list, you definitely must put Stockholm on there as well. Make sure to go between the 15th of June the 15th of July when the days last forever and you can sit outside at some wonderful cafe, drink white wine while the sun sets at midnight! Nothing beats cycling around Copenhagen also at the same time of year. You’ll love Scandinavia!

This shop is gorgeous. It’s in Lorne, Victoria, on the Great Ocean Rd, one of the most spectacular stretches of coast in Australia. That is Jess pictured and she is the sweetest shop owner. I visit the shop every summer when we are in Lorne and stock up!

    You would love it.

    Hi Holly,
Midi Boutique looks beautiful, can’t wait to get down there one day soon and have a look. Lorne is in Victoria by the way, it’s a little coastal town situated on the Great Ocean Road (a journey down it is one of Australia’s delights), guess you’ll have to extend you dream trip!

Mmmh, St-Petersburg is one of the coldest and most depressing places I know.
As for the travel plans – until recently I used to think Marrakech was my dream destination. Well, Morocco is absolutely no place for vacation.
Australia seems to be a kind of place where you’d need a minimum of five weeks to see a bit of the country. And yeah, right now it’s my dream destination, too!

What a fantastic store! Going to the website and Clare’s gallery right now. I love those throws and folksy frames at the top as well as the long-sleeved dresses (my favourite) and magenta baskets with lids. The whole place is so light and colourful! Great photographs.

If I ever get the chance to travel, I’d definitely head for Portugal and Spain first, but most of Europe is on my list.
