Inspiring Home in Uruguay

Here’s a pretty room (or six!) to inspire all the bohemians and romantics out there today who like an open yet rustic feminine space. These photos are from the 1850′s home of Argentinian couple Federico Bonomi and Cynthia Kern who run clothing company Kosiuko and currently live in Uruguay with their children. These photos are from Mixr in Sweden and I simply have to share them as the look is very unique and you may be able to take away some inspiration from the arrangements.

This casual home merging old with new looks like a creative center of activity, doesn’t it? I love how it has some very elegant touches but that it also feels lived in and that it’s not overly styled or designed to perfection. I also like some of the whimsical touches, like the mismatched tilework around the fireplace. I’m seeing more and more wood encased tubs lately, especially salvaged wood, and I find this inspiring and original.

These were forwarded to me by Emma who I had the pleasure of hanging out with in Stockholm a few years ago. Emma, thank you for these photos!

I’m loving those tiles around the fireplace, pretty colors and gorgeous patterns! Also, the blue couch looks so romantic and is really softening the look of concrete walls. Missed your posts so much! :)

OMG!!! I just love this home. What a fantastic mix of sheer elegance and organic style. The bathroom is my fave. Just love the mix of chandelier, mosaic mirror and boarded in bathtub. It certainly has given me inspiration. I haven’t been so excited by a space in a while. Thanks for sharing this.

I can’t tell if that’s a giant fireplace or tiny chairs in the first photograph but either way I love it.

Hi Holly! I live in Uruguay and love to see a house from here in your blog!
It´s incredible to see that couple´s house reflects perfectly their company design style. They always have many romantic clothes in their collections and their house is very romantic too. They made a fantastic remodeling of the house. Beautiful!

Love that bath surround and fireplace tile. The furniture all looks like it is minature in size or low to the ground compared to the high ceilings but perhaps its just the angle.
