Hello again! Many of you wrote in after my last post a few moments ago asking what type of linen I was looking for at Bemz so I thought I’d show you! I am looking at the loosefit collection though I realized my sofa (Karlstad) that I want to put in the new guest room is not a sofa that Bemz has pre-made loosefit covers for. I’m so sad! But wait! There is an alternative…
“The loose fit slipcovers are manufactured using an exclusive linen from Belgium, a country with a centuries-old tradition of flax cultivation and processing. Rosendal Pure Washed Linen is pre-washed to give it that soft, beautiful, vintage-like look and is available in Absolute White, Unbleached, Medium Grey and Sage Brown. Also, these new linen fabrics are available to order in the usual made-to-measure style of slipcover for all Bemz models as well as fabric by the meter”.
Made to order? Oh this could be expensive so I’m going to write to them to see if they have some ideas for me….
I think the oatmeal one is divine…. I can see lots of John Derian plates and vintage mirrors hanging above it with some lovely black accents!
P.S. I think they used the home of Susanne as a shoot location, don’t you? Lovely!

Thanks for posting this, we’re about to move house and are planning to buy a white Ikea sofa, and it’s nice to know when we have kids we can have a massive choice of more child-friendly covers!

A linen cover for our sofa has been on my wish-list for a long time! I think the natural linen colour would be very practical, at least in a family with children or if you sometimes like to eat in the sofa :)

I went to look at the Bemz website after your last post and my favourite was the Unbleached pure washed linen too. I also looked at the linen blend as a more affordable option. I have a Karlanda bench (long ottoman) that could use a new cover. They ship to Australia too, yay!

I would be so interested if you find out that they can do a oatmeal linen cover for the Karlstad model! I have this sofa as well, live in Europe also, and would love a cover for mine! Please let us know if you have any luck through this blog!

Holly, if you want to give sewing a try (or have someone sew it for you), I have the perfect books for you: “Slipcovers and Bedspreads” (http://www.amazon.de/Slipcovers-Bedspreads-Sunset-Books/dp/0376015136/)
I still have it lying around since I changed sofas along the way – so I can even send it over if you want to have a look?
Hugs from Hamburg,
Gila

Hi again Holly,
The linen covers are a great choice! They work so well with so many interiors, adding class and sophistication.
Just thought I’d drop a line and explain the made-to-measure option for your Karlstad (and for any others wondering!). All Bemz slipcovers are made-to-measure to fit a specific Ikea model and because we offer so many fabrics and so many different models, we don’t sew the cover until you’ve ordered it. All that to say that what we were intending with the text you quoted in your post (which was obviously not clear – sorry!) was to explain that the Rosendal 100% linen fabrics are available for the regular fit as well as the Loose Fit Country style of slipcover. The regular fit slipcover for the Karlstad in 100% linen is an option for you at present.
I hope this answers any questions you had – if not, just get back in touch!
And again, when you do order a slipcover – please let us know!

Christie thank you! I have a question on my Karlstad — is it possible to order a slip cover that falls to the floor then for it? If so, I’d love to discuss ordering one!

Thank you for sharing.
There’s nothing like those linen covers! It works well with many interiors.

So is that like 700 American Dollars? Yikes. But I’m so in love and need a new cover for my Ektorp sofa. I’m sad, too!

Hi again – sorry for the delay in getting back to you! At present, we do not offer a slipcover that comes to the floor for the Karlstad, although this is something we have in the pipeline (shh!!). I cannot give you a definite on launch dates but do stay tuned.
BTW, did you get my email? If not, please send me one so I can provide you with more information. Thanks!
