Lígia Casanova Interior Design

Hello friends! Before I sign off for the weekend I want to direct you to the site of Lígia Casanova, an interior designer with an inspiring kitchen + dining room in her online portfolio. I know that the photos are quite light, that is how they appear on her website so there is unfortunately not much I can do to Photoshop them — but they’re still very inspirational.

Lígia Casanova obtained her master’s degree in graphic design back in 1987 and went on to work in advertising and design until she found her true calling in 1995 as an interior designer. She wants to, “Make Room For Happiness” in all that she does. I feel happy looking at all of the little details in the space from the appliqued curtains to the multi-colored chairs, lighting over the table, pillows on the floor, crochet rug and the lovely art wall in the dining area.

I hope that you, likeLígia, will find ways to make room for happiness this weekend. I can’t wait to visit with you again on Monday when Leslie will be back with her monthly dose of Color Me Pretty to inspire your creativity for January — she is shooting in her studio this weekend so prepare for gorgeous results on decor8 Monday morning! Much love to you all. xo

I personally love the light neutral colors! And the concept of “Make Room for Happiness” interior design is perfect. Who would not want a little speck of happiness in their living spaces? Brava.

I love this photos – the rooms look light but still warm and inviting. The cream and brown sofa is beautiful – it reminds me of a Neenish Tart and, combined with the lacy rug, has a faintly baking sort of feel to it without being all themed. Beautiful!

love this…it seems like there’s a lot of stark lines and the like, but they’re always softened by little touches, lace and color and the like…really nice.

    Good evening!
This is not necessarily to be posted, but I came across http://www.filleswithcolor.fr and thought it might be something that you might love. Six illustrators in France make templates to a different topic every month, and you can download them for free from their website and colour them in yourself (or download versions with colour). There is even a calendar to color yourself. The downside is it is so far only in french, but you soon get the hang of it. Some of the designs reminded me of the illustrations you feature on your etsy posts, and this is a diy solution that some of your readers (as well as maybe yourself) may enjoy. And no, I am in no way connected with that website or any of the people involved :-). Just think it is a fantastic idea.

Those window cutains are really interesteing. I’ve been looking for an idea of the window door we have in our kitchen – that might be just the thing.

These pictures are so beautiful. I have no idea why -when I make stuff like this- it always looks like I have too much clutter hanging around…. :-)
I guess because she sticks to light colors (I don#t think they’re too bright, they’re perfect this way!). Have a nice weekend, too,
