Anthropologie: New For Spring!
I was at the London Anthropologie shopping drooling on Monday and spotted pieces from their Spring collection trickling in, they have a rather modern African theme in housewares currently… I felt both inspired and mesmerized by the patterns and saturated colors with all the ethnic influence though I’m more about small doses and definitely not into overdoing things… I love dots of color splashed against a neutral background, but some of you love a bright, saturated background with more color layered on top and lucky for all this line satisfies all. This season at Anthro African prints and patterns are all the rage along with animal motifs but in addition to their pieces with African influence, they also have some industrial pieces and lots of flea market-inspired finds as they are best known (and loved) for. Here is a glimpse of a few of my favorite things.
Animal wall hooks in white ceramic
Block Begonia Wallpaper– I am dying to order 4 rolls of this for a wall in my dining room… I guess I should just go for it but I need samples first before I take the leap!
Safari Study Pillow, Gazelle
Flights and fancy salad plate, On-a-whim dinner plate, Wanderlust Journal – Chevron, Recipe bookmarks.
Decker bookshelf
Ethnic rugs – love that magenta one, perfect with a gorgeous black leather sofa or a sumptuous linen one.
Coralie bed, Lunet chair and stackable animal pots.
Spot anything that speaks to you? What? Why? Do you like their modern safari style, industrial inspired finds and the overall eclectic, well-traveled look?

I was literally just on the Anthro site drooling over the IKAT bedding and the lampshades. I’m also completely smitten with those animal hooks.

I do love some of these things, but wouldn’t want to o.d. on it. The little heads are adorable and I love the cushions.
Have a good day Holly!

I DO like the new safari-inspired look, but what I even more is that gray ruched comforter! Granted, it would probably collect crumbs, dust, and dog hair worse than anything… but its so purdee!

I really love Anthropologie, but other than the Flights & Fancy salad plate and the wallpaper, this doesn’t really appeal to me. It feels a little masculine and dark for my taste.

My other half grew up in the Middle East as a toddler then lived in Africa for several years before coming home to England and these gorgeous new Anthro pieces so remind me of some of the fascinating things all around his mother’s house – it is a large barn conversion crammed with all sorts of artefacts from their travels.
Must say I love all of the new pieces! The Coralie bed is divine and I think it would be relatively versatile too and I really like the zebra pillow hidden just behind the gazelle one!

I would love to get the stackable animal pots as a gift for a friend, but they don’t seem to be on the Anthropologie website. Do you know if they’re only available in London? Thanks!

@JB – I’m not sure, I’m sorry — I cannot access the US site from Europe so I don’t always know what’s what!

Holly, that wallpaper is amazing! I haven’t been into Anthro in a few weeks, so I don’t think I’ve seen it before. Is the texture a bit like screen-printed kraft paper? That’s what it looks like, how awesome. I can totally see that working in your flat.
I also love the elephant medallion pot, probably due to my lifelong, name-induced love for all things elephant. Alas, he’s a bit pricy for me…

Everytime I visit an Anthropologie, I have the urge to just pack up my stuff and move into their store. It’s so gorgeous!
I’ve heard the most fabulous things about the Anthropologie in London. I cannot wait to visit it in March!

I love the mod safari look. I feel like if anyone wants to go for the safari/african look, its always overkill, like they’re so obvious with everything from leopard print wallpaper to their towels (i.e. my mothers bathroom). This is nice because you can mix it up and switch it up if you’re tired of channeling that look

I recently visited a store in New Jersey and I do like the layout of everything and the vignettes. They are so well done, though I am stating the obvious. I do like the safari theme and the pillow as well as the rugs and ceramic wall hooks. I think the theme can add a bit of eclecticism to the home – perhaps this is what they are going for. Make a home look lived in and not like a page out of a magazine. :))

How exciting to visit Anthropologie in London! How does that store compare to the stores in the US? I’m planning to be in London summer after this for about 5 weeks. Should I put it on my must visit list?

Yesterday I went browsing thru the Anthropologie site looking for a specific wallpaper, one used by Anna at Door Sixteen. Instead I found the very same Begonia wallpaper for a bathroom. I love the ‘kraft paper’ background. I still love Anna’s Orla Kiely Blossoms…but it is sadly out of stock.

I love the flower plate. love the mix of painted coloured flowers and the blackline drawings – really cool
love the bookshelf. i adore that colour wood, and am always short of a bookshelf for my books. While I love the overal ecclectic and well travelled look and also really like the industrial inspired finds- i dont really fancy the whole african thing. i like it- but have had too -way way to much- of it since we live in Cape Town…well is still like the idea in someone elses house, just not in mine.

I really like the bookshelf but even more the chair that stands beside it- and even more the gray wall and rustic window..so nice..we had the same feeling in our old apt in Shanghai but the window was single glass so it became too cold on the concrete wall..beautiful on a picture, but less livable in a city like that..
