Happy Spring

March 22, 2011

Hello everyone! I hope your week is going well so far. I’m so glad to that it’s officially springtime and feels like it where I live as well — the weather has been beyond gorgeous with lots of sunshine and temps around 60 which is perfect for March. I love the things that springtime brings, like clear blue skies, daffodils and aisles of amazing Easter candy in the stores over here – Germans really get into Easter let me tell ya! Man! I am amazed by the variety, quality and packaging. I also love the way the locals decorate this time of year — hanging branches adorned with ornaments (like eggs or painted rabbits) for instance…. And there is a lot of energy in the air because you can feel that everyone’s spirit has lifted after two months of a very gray blanket and darkness falling by 3:00 p.m. which can really suck the life out of even the most positive person.

Happy Spring

The grass is getting green, the birds are singing, there is magic in the air for sure. Yesterday was my birthday and so today I woke up into a brand new year of my life thinking of all that I will do and want to do. I am very pleased to welcome spring and equally happy to be experiencing my second spring abroad as I feel it is a genuine accomplishment, a milestone, I’m really making it in a foreign country on all new turf and so I have this extra confidence boost from the goals I’m reaching.

Happy Spring

By the way, I’d like to share a random thought I had recently… It’s amazing how the internet has brought so many passionate, talented, and sincere people into my life — your life — all of us really… I know I would not have met most of you without having a blog. It is likely that you are also blogging or using other means to network and so I’m sure you can relate. We’re a lucky bunch, aren’t we?

Back in a moment with a few inspiring posts for today!

I hope you had a wonderful birthday, Holly! Many Happy Returns!

Yes – I was musing on a similar thing a couple of days ago, I’d never have guessed at how many people there were in Blog Land with similar passions to myself. The internet is wonderful in that way :-)

Spring has sprung here in the UK to some extent, things are coming into bud all over the place and temperatures reached the teens yesterday in the Peaks – it was a welcome break from the recent fog!

Oh yes, the internet is a gift in that respect; I have met lovely people from all over the world and I feel those contacts make the world a bit smaller and warmer.
Spring has definitely started for me today, as the mail man brought me your book!!! And it is such a treat. I am going to absorb everything the next days, reading a few pages per day, as it is simply too delightful to consume it at once. What a great prospect. Thank you thank you thank you Holly, for bringing joy and beauty and so much more!
    Hugs, Iris

With the extra long winter, Spring seems even more welcome doesnt it.
The lighter nights and the birds beginning to sing along with signs of new green growth returning to the garden….can’t wait to soak it all in and recharge from the sunshine.
I totally agree with regards to friendships i have been blessed with through connecting with people who share my passions and outlook on life. It is one of the greatest gifts ever and brings so much to my day to day life. So glad you are a part of that hunni,

That’s such a nice post, Holly! I’m glad you’re getting nice, warm Spring weather now! It’s supposed to snow here tomorrow, ugh! On my birthday! But I agree with you… we are all so lucky!! I’m so happy to have “met” you, as I think you are a very positive, generous and creative person!! You’re the kind of person I wanted to meet out in the blogosphere! I’ve met other people, too, and partly through your class, and partly on my own from blogging. I feel so lucky!! It’s going to be an amazing year for all of us… I can just feel it!

    xoxo Happy Spring!!

beautiful photos! I’m enjoying the arrival of spring, too, with open windows and short sleeve shirts at last.
I, too, was thinking about blogging. My blog has maybe a dozen readers, at best, and they’re mostly related to me, but I love the way I can connect with people and all the interesting and wonderful things going on all over the world. I also love how people come together when awful things are going on–like for japan with love. 1200+ people joining in within just a few days.

We are definitely a lucky bunch! We’re supposed to get 4 inches of snow here in New England so I’ll hold off on the happy spring but I’m sure it’s right around the corner (right? right?)

it’s so true about feeling like a big grey blanket is lifting when the sun and spring arrives. the strangest part for me is that i don’t even realize i am sad until i’m happy.

also true about the net and blogger love. i keep trying to express to people
how much the Internet and everyone out there has to offer. i feel inspired every day just from being online and reading through my blog roll.

@The Misses – It’s a vintage enamel jug with handle from a flea market I went to last Fall in Germany…
