Inspired By Bodie & Fou

I’m a huge fan of Karine Kong, she is one half of the sister duo who runs online shop Bodie & Fou but who also writes a lovely blog… and I’ve met her in person several times and can confirm that she’s even sweeter in person than I had imagined. That is why today I am thrilled to help spread the word about her brand new print + digital catalog!

Bodie & Fou

What I love about it is that it’s a bit like a magazine that you can shop from – so nearly everything you see you can purchase. Karine did a lovely job setting up the shoots, her styling work is very strong and she often uses corners of her own home to show how she uses the things in her own shop at home. I love that – a very unique approach for sure. Here are some lovely spreads from her catalog that she sent over to me to share today.

I’m swooning over her workspace shown above — it’s so chic and just great! I love all of the House Doctor products that she sells too – I’m sure a fan of their things. Karine – congrats on the catalog and much success to you!

Enjoy!

Munich: Meet Me Wednesday + Berlin: Mark Your Calendar!

Hello to those living or visiting Munich, Germany currently! I am traveling there in the morning for an awards dinner for Myself magazine as I was nominated for their Lieblings award, but I’ll also be visiting my friends at the sweet little shop, Nostalgie Im Kinderzimmer, who will have a little party for my German decorating book along with a few things to drink + eat. If you would like to join me, please do! RSVP email: press [at] decor8blog [dot] com

Book Party + Blogger's Night in MUNICH

You’ll need to RSVP (RSVP email: press [at] decor8blog [dot] com) right away though so I can make sure there is space as it’s going to be just a little pre-launch event since the official launch party will be in Berlin at Soho House on November 12th and is sponsored primarily by BRIGITTE magazine. I’ll be joined by co-sponsors Callwey Verlag, Etsy, Dialogue Books and more! I’ll post an announcement detailing the Lust Auf Wohnen Book + Bloggers Party next week on decor8 as you won’t want to miss it! Cupcakes, cocktails, goody bags and lectures all about blogging, writing and more from some incredible speakers that we’re currently lining up – we’ll even have a fun interactive project for everyone to get involved in – can’t wait to show you that when you arrive.

But first…

Until the official launch….

I’ll be hanging in Munich with the lovely Angela at Nostalgie Im Kinderzimmer who thought it may be a nice way to say hello to a few of my friends and readers in Munich this week for a cozy event in her darling shop. I couldn’t agree more and I’m really looking forward to it.

Gorgeous Paris Apartment of Jean-Christophe Aumas

I’m so smitten by the Paris apartment of Jean-Christophe Aumas that has been in numerous decorating magazines over the past few years – I spotted it in Maire Claire Maison first where these images are from below. This home is totally Palm Springs mid century meets Paris, right!? HOW FUN.

So pretty in paris

The decorating idea that I’m taking away from these photos is the painted firewood shown above. Brilliant. I really, really love it. I’d like to try it in 80′s neon hues. Fab!

You have a bit of pink, black, grey, red, teal and eye-catching acid green. If you don’t know Jean-Christophe, he is a talented art director who has worked for such high end labels as Chloé, Diptyque, and John Galliano. He obviously has an amazing eye and the bones of his flat are splendid. His collection of art and furniture is impressive. When can I move in?
